No person anywhere needs to learn russian. Communicating with russians is dangerous and frustrating and shouldn't be attempted by anyone except the civil authorities. If you see a russian don't approach it just call the authorities.

I want to learn Russian because I think I will need it, besides I am Serbian so I already understand a lot of it when someone speaks slowly. There’s a lot of words that we share between our two languages that have the same meaning but a lot of them sound very similar with a completely different meaning and that’s a bit of a challenge for me.

Can someone answer this question: In the phrase "не за сто", since 'o' is the only vowel in сто, it should be the only stressed letter. Why is it pronounced as an a instead of an o since it's stressed? I've also noticed this in other words, like "До свидания", where До is pronounced Да. Does this mean that these words are connected to the prior or the one that comes after in speech?
