9 New FEATURES in the Blender 2.8 Video Sequence Editor (VSE)

I wish you could donate to Blender Foundation in a way that allowed for your donation to go toward improving a specific aspect of Blender like the video editor. It would be awesome if Blender were on par with FCP or DaVinci Resolve.

HI Blender Frenzy!! I wondering, how do you call the animated text box with lines where you display the NEW FEATURES? I'm trying to create the same effect, but I can't find how to do it with Blender or how it's called. Maybe they are just keyframes. Thanks so much!!

The term "Dope Sheet" was actually, originally used at the horse track, referring to information on stats and other race related items. "Dope" was a slang term for information. I suspect that traditional animation sheets probably resembled those used at the tracks and likely got their name from that! Maybe Ub Iwerks liked betting on the horses back in the day! :)

is there a way to have "icon" preview of clips in the timeline... ?

what is your sequencer memory setting? I got 16GB and going backwards on the scrubber really sucks it drops the cue it does not keep it all in there.

Hi, I want to make coding videos and use blender for edit. Is there some fast and simple way how to just highlight piece of code by some border right in blender video editor? Or I need to make an image for every highlight?

As you pointed out, Blender VSE is still way too sluggish to actually use. I recently started looking into video editors and having (almost) only used Blenders so far, I was a bit shocked how smooth things were running in Hitfilm Express! Blender VSE has some way to go. I'll keep an eye on the development, which is why I ended up here. Please use other example videos than your previously VSE edit. :) It was kind of distracting. Nevertheless; thanks a bunch for a a rare and appreciated VSE video!
