I love Randy's voice. I hear this song and am reminded of my first love, the love of my life. We met in 1977 at age 13. He lived out of town and we saw each other off and on over the years. The last time I saw him was Christmas 1982 before he broke up with me. I never forgot him and tried to find him several times. Fast forward to 2011, we reconnected and have been married 11 years. He tells me he should've never left.

If I were to turn on my radio today, tune to the FM band, and hear this song I would think I was in the Twilight Zone.
We no longer have real country music.
Ironically, trouble all started about the time Randy was hitting his stride; with that ridiculous movie "Urban Cowboy". Ever since that movie, country music has gone downhill to the point of becoming complete and total garbage.

Just watched the History of Country Music. It made me remember some of the great country singers who, sadly, are no longer in the limelight.
