AoE2 Beginners HAVE To Watch This Video

Do you have a beginners video where you go through everything slowly and actually explain what you're doing as you're doing it? As a beginner I wouldn't know what "sheep scouting as we always do" means.

Gotta slow down if it's for beginners

"How to build base" in 10 easy steps!
Step 1 - you can place farms and then delete them before they are started to make roads on terrain (unless it's desert sand - then it doesn't look as nice)
Step 2 - it's important to have all your buildings entrances orientated to a road or an alleyway so your citizens can exit and enter properly
Step 3 - try not to build houses too close to mining or wood camps, as it's noisy work during night time
Step 4 - look for patches of untouched grass to place your stables, so it's nicer for the horses
Step 5 - have a bit of space in front of the market (not behind) for the peddlers who cannot fit inside to trade
Step 6 - try and have your blacksmith close to the stable for convenience
Step 7 - you want to spread out all your barracks so that there the presence of soldiers around various parts of your city deters crime
Step 8 - if there are resources blocking the topography of where you want to build, mine those out first because they are in the way of your city setup
Step 9 - research mangonel early so you can destroy trees that are in the same position as step 8, and make sure to perform step 1 over the ugly-looking dirt ground that's left behind
Step 10 - remember to cycle through the build hotkey to get one of the three random types of houses, for the purposes of entry orientation as well as making the streets look vibrant and unique!

Watching this video I went from playing against an extreme A.I. and getting absolutely demolished. To stopping their first attack. Then, getting demolished in the Castle Age. I am very new to this game, though not new to the genre.

How do you deal with overchopping? Especially when going aggressive I tend to forget adding the new wall pieces, conversely, if I do remember I tend to waste too much RPM on keeping track.

Well i always tough it was fairly intuitive. Building is a free wall, and instead of placong stuff randomly, it improves units flow and pathing.

Never played AoE but I randomly watched Wololo and I'm thinking to pick it up😅, it feels a lot of learning though

Question. been playing this game since original release. today decided to jump on ranked 4v4. not doing the best but trying to learn a different playstyle as opposed to playing against AI. A lot of the matches my teammates have been pretty toxic in chat towards me and then resigning. i feel like this is hurting me learn how to play online against others. any idea how to handle this? like now i dont even want to go back online and just want to go back against AI

what a stupid video. you're not safe being fully walled at 15 min in feudal age. if you're not fully walled by 10 min you arent safe and in rare cases need to be even before 10 min.

Why is Hera building a house as part of the wall?

great video about strategy but what the beginners and this video are missing is muscle memory+shortcuts+micromanagement like luring, queuing work and that makes you do things 5 times faster. I, for example, am clicking each building/worker and selecting what I need on its menu

Trying to relearn the game after like 15 years, You move so fast, for a beginner video, its hard to keep up.

I am only 900 elo, however I have to say ppl even at this elo who make feudal age army have a plan to break through palisade walls. I have walled but it always seems like a waste when my walls get broken into. They will add a tower or archers/skirms with a melee unit to prevent reinforcing the wall. I have given up on walling tbh and just try to play super aggressive in feudal maybe adding a tower to protect wood and gold for archers. not sure where going wrong but just seems walls are made to be broken into.
