Another one I saw multiple times in the 1980s that is forgotten is "River's Edge." Keanu Reeves, Ione Sky and Dennis Hopper all the way back in the mid-80s.

My underrated cult classic I always recommend to people is Gridlock'd with Tim Roth and Tupac. Its a great 90s dark comedy crime film about 2 heroin addicted jazz musicians and it somehow bombed despite being Tupac's final film role.

Man Who Fell To Earth and as long as I'm thinking "bowie" I'll throw in The Hunger as a bonus.

MIRACLE MILE is a long-time favorite, and one of my choices as a superior apocalypse films. Those films are split into three camps: (1) the Apocalypse has hit and the film is about survivors; (2) the film's characters are awaiting for the apocalypse; and (3) some films split the difference - first half, before, second half, after. MIRACLE MILE is #2: the apocalypse (nuclear war) is scheduled but denied/hidden/lied about for most everyone. Except this one diner's occupying characters. Highly recommended.

Two-Lane Blacktop is a film I'll never forget. It was not a commercial success when it came out but is now a cult classic. The plot if you call it a plot is aimless when no beginning or ending and is like no movie I've seen before or since. Excellent and unique.

Watching this at double speed doesn't make the voice over less stilted, but at least you get through the experience more quickly.

Repo Man is hilarious. Everyone who has seen Kiss Me Deadly knows that it steals shamelessly from it. And the likeness of the driver to Sellers as Strangelove is not an accident.

Correction: Matt Dillon's first role was in a beautiful, almost forgotten movie from 1979 or 1980, My Bodyguard. If you don't know it and you watch it, you'll be glad I told you about it.

I thought this was a great list. I recognize these particular films have resonated with some people and stayed with them all these years since I've seen them come up in conversations. Personally, I'd add Lone Star by John Sayles. That film would have fit nicely into this list.

'Cult classic' means a small film that built a fanatical following, to me. Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cutter and Bone/Cutter's Way, Young Adam (McGregor's best work) and I could probably think of ten more if I had the time... Thanks for your selection.

I found that I had a hard time keeping the names in mind.
Great video though!
