Working as PM in Europe is totally different than it's in USA. Here everything is quite structured and more chill at work. Most of the time you are not directly working with the dev team, as there is Engineering manager or Tech Pm or some other people who is doing this job.

ОтветитьThis is so great. Thanks!
ОтветитьHi everyone, can anyone connect me with good software architects (senior-mid), ideally from payments, financial management fintech companies. TIA
ОтветитьThe money is for real life changing....it's bonkers. I paid off my student debt, one random Monday, because all of a sudden I could. I paid for our wedding without saving for it. Absolutely life changing.
ОтветитьSo random but you should be a voice actress! You have the best voice for that sort of thing. haahhaa
ОтветитьI love how your perspectives sis!! You made all the chaos and pressure sound light and hilarious 😂 that is the kind of energy we should have to overcome all the working challenges, isn’t it ❤ However, I personally think your video will touch more people if you slow down your talking speed a little bit ❤

ОтветитьGreat video!
Ответить“…it wasn’t in the PRD…” so true 😂
ОтветитьYou are true PM, eat whenever it is possible. I always have my lunch on my meetings because there is no enough time for that
ОтветитьHow is it different from project manager?
Ответить"You don't know until you try, but you don't want to try too hard until you know enough." BARS 🔥
ОтветитьGood PMs are a godsend, like I literally love y'all. Recently, my bosses has decided that our teams don't need PMs... So about half the products, and therefore engineers, in our company still have their PMs and the other half that I'm a part of DON'T and lost ours. Every project since has been such a mess the past year that I plan to quit. Funny how all this was due to the fact that half the company is short-staffed and asking engineers to play the roles of PMs and whatnot would lead to disaster lmaooo.
ОтветитьI love her personality. So much character and sass, haha. No wonder she excels at her job.
ОтветитьThat thing you said 'immigrant oldest sibling trying to prove something' just hits, love your humor, wonder how you'd be in person😂
ОтветитьI work as a MarTech PM, which is not the same as a feature-driven PM that Chloe is describing. My customer is marketing. My company doesn't build the martech tools - we work with 3rd party vendors. You could say I'm an enablement PM. SO, you have the complexities of pleasing marketing (nearly impossible), while managing the vendor relationships. AND, I work in the Bay Area at an entertainment tech company that's not at the height of their game. I do NOT make as high of a salary as Chloe, even though I have 15 years experience BEFORE I took this job (which I've been at now for almost 2 years). Also, MarTech PMs rarely if ever work with designers - we don't design anything because the martech tools are already built. The specific team I work on doesn't have an analytics team to support us. Project Management is part of the role, which I hate because I spent years doing that type of work & thought I was finally getting out of it. I work with 6 engineering teams, most of whom are terrible at communicating. We're launching a new product in Dec., which means we're all on call 24/7, evenings & weekends (yes I had to give my cell #) in case something hits the fan. Needless to say, my experience has been different than Chloe.
ОтветитьI’m a biology background. This sounds a lot like testing a hypothesis through experiments . I find this interesting
ОтветитьPMs should be listening to the users more often then if they make quality of life changes to various apps/platforms etc
ОтветитьStudent Chloe is so cute! 😊
ОтветитьIt's clear to see that the real stars of the technology are the PM's.
ОтветитьGreat profession to consider. I’m a former C-suite banker and 3x startup founder who is now a Director of Product Manager at a publicly-traded fintech company. If I can help guide anyone drop me a message.
ОтветитьI’m an SE and work closely with PMs, but I didn’t fully understand their day-to-day work until I watched this. Nice one!
ОтветитьYou look bad
Ответитьas a fellow PM, i related so hard to this. 😅
ОтветитьI do software and wonder every now and then about being a PM
ОтветитьProduct Managers can come from everywhere, inventors, designers, engineers and my favorite entrepreneurs. I went from business development and acted as a product manager to get more sales in a manufacturing company, I learnt engineering and become VP of innovation of our group. Then president and make $400K a year at 34. Just focus on the needs and deep very very deep into why you're making the solution and then focus on your unique positioning.
ОтветитьFinally understand what my dad does. 18 years and he has never been able to explain his job to me.
ОтветитьYellow watermelon
ОтветитьJust going to put this here....anyone else notice how much melon was still left on the skin parts she cut off??? WHA?!?!?!??!?!
ОтветитьThere can be mothers in this profession if they marry guys who want to be stay at home dads lol
Ответитьdudes uses words like stonk and flop wtf thats rare coming from a gril i guess
Ответитьnot sure if your boss is ok with this video. :)
ОтветитьOne of video I watched recently both fun and covered a lot of content. Amazing to watch the small of details goes in the making of this content and screen play 👏
As a designer, I might start liking PMs again (probably) 😝
I’m too scared to sit on my Nelson Platform bench. Much larger than you though! 😂
ОтветитьDidn't lsiten. im just tryna smash.
ОтветитьCan I asked ?. Should i go abroad to study master product management ?
ОтветитьWhat's the difference between a product manager vs product owner?
ОтветитьI am for sure sending this to people when they ask me what I do.
Ответитьhey Chloe, just want to you know that u are just a life savior. I was a management consultant who recently transitioned into a Tech Product manager with a large Brand. i looked upon your videos while interviewing this firm. even though i am from Hong Kong your knowledge from Silicon Valley is still applicable here. also, i am in love with your infectious smile so much that I introduced you to my Mom and she approved! Hope we can meet soon
ОтветитьHonestly I think the most difficult part to be a PM is the PM interview. Since there is no correct answer, and basically everyone with any background can try to be a PM. So it's hard to know what exactly the interviewer is looking for and every interview is probably want to hear something different.
Ответитьholy shit, you are Asian, but you cut watermelon like an American. Your mother is very angry with you🤣
ОтветитьTranslate brd into user stories. Story grooming. Assist with QA and UAT. Work with other teams on dependencies. Break project into phases. Stay up late to work with APAC. Get up early to meet with AMER.
Ответитьfollowed!! speaking for the designers, we appreciate u 🥰
ОтветитьLoved your way of presenting the role haha
ОтветитьI've seen posts from PM's who work at non-big tech F500 companies say they only work like 40 hours week. There are probably less stressful options.
