I did not know the map wrapped round like that!
ОтветитьWhen figuring out the name for xmtb, you suggested "mean time between". and the only time I've EVER heard that was in a systems engineering environment. Makes me wonder if that's your profession 🤔
ОтветитьI pose a challenge to you fellow Irishman.
32 dupes, liquid based rockets and most importantly; you manage to get rid of the long commutes message.
Dublin in case you're wondering ;)
I think bottles of polluted water that sit in a thin puddle of clean water offgas a lot more than they are supposed to... Kinda exploit-y but if you gotta get 141 duplicants enough oxygen to breathe... >.> <.<
ОтветитьStill not using 6 Scanners eh? For the sake of 100% network quality 😂
ОтветитьMelting an icebiom with a tepidizer works better by backfilling the bottom with blocks so the water rises and using a few thermal plates against the ice.
ОтветитьOne big blast from a steam rocket would give you a bunch of hot steam to pump into the ice biome of your choice
ОтветитьWhat the heck.... I can't even imagine getting to this deep in the game. Glad I got this game and thanks for the video!
ОтветитьLove these videos.
ОтветитьI'm looking forward to your suprise when the printing pod stops giving you duplicants once you reach 100 ;)
At least that's what my printing pod does...
Madness
ОтветитьHey Francis John, I'm having a huge issue with the petroleum boiler and I have no idea why. I built it tile for tile like in the tutorials, set the automation wire exactly like how it shows, yet I keep getting a build up of more igneous rock than the mining drill can mine out in the 20 seconds with the filter gate. This is also causing the igneous rock to not be able to fall through the bottom door as well that last tile isn't being mined out in time. I kept trying to troubleshoot but have come up with no reason for why this is and was wondering if this is something you've dealt with?
ОтветитьNot sure about your computer set up, but if not suggested, try a two computer set up. The more powerful one running the game and a lesser/cheaper computer with video capture. That should free up cpu power so your game is not so slow. Video capturing take a good chunk of your cpu.
ОтветитьReminds me of a comment a few episodes ago:
"Imagine Francis desperately launching a steam rocket for water"
Ran a "small" stability test on the save up until cycle 400, and two biggest issues i noticed was toilets and their constant use leading to small pool of water everywhere lack of and the issues of the Shove Vole ranches, appears iron ore air flow tile they can dig though thus escape the ranch, an annoyance but easy to solve, the Larger issue is the lack of a robo-miner in the Shove Vole breeder they can rapidly fill the room with regolith. i wish you luck keeping your patrons alive, ps i also had escaping voles from the breeder but for the life of me i couldn't find how again good luck.
ОтветитьWow even after +1000 hours, I don’t know how I didn’t somehow realize that the world was round...
Ответитьgoing to bad use the Sightseeing Module for stasis chamber :D
ОтветитьHow about using Morbs, they offgas polluted oxygen and you can create them by not emptying latrine. Only issue i see is dealing with excess clay. Assuming you deal with slimelung by immediately deodorizing the oxygen and/or by running it through chlorine submerged gas tank.
ОтветитьFYI, Tepidizer has been renamed to "Yepidizer" due to a typo during a conversation.
Sincerely,
your Discord server :P
vore ranch
:o
Hey, I was wondering why you didn't use morbs to make oxygen?
ОтветитьHe's got a thing for mechatronic engineers ;)
ОтветитьYou mentioned arbor trees have to be wild to be water positive. This isn't quite strictly true, since you can convert polluted dirt partly into polluted water via offgassing to pufts to algae distillers, and adding that on top of the polluted water from the generators burning the ethanol makes it water positive even on domesticated plants. I get that this isn't really an option here, a rocket chimney is the way to go. I just wanted to clarify the possibility.
ОтветитьBTW how's Wojciech Szymski? Why don't we know more about her? What's her story? How are her days like? You never mention her... :(
j/k
It never ceases to amaze.
Ответитьusing poluted water to purify it with sand to clear oxygen is way better!) you can do it with 2-4 bunkers of poluted water with 10 destroyed tanks of poluted water and it will produce enough oxygen for 20 duplicants*(how many bunkers you will do)
ОтветитьDown the left hand side.... Do you mean stage left or the other left?
ОтветитьBehold my ability to construct through wormholes! :D
ОтветитьFlotsam had some updates....you plan on looking at it again?
ОтветитьWith 170 tons of algae, you might want to consider the economics of Algae Terrariums. It's only a stopgap solution without a constant source of algae but it's considerably more effective for turning water into oxygen the Electrolyzers. They do require maintenance but it's not like you're short on staff. In addition to oxygen they also produce polluted water which will off-gas more oxygen. They apparently can absorb water from the floor so they can be drip fed water without duplicate intervention till the polluted water needs emptying.
ОтветитьI am confused, how are the robo miners and sweepers in space being prevented from overheating in the current build? I always struggle with that part
ОтветитьWould a mod to cancel unnecessary dupe and mechanical animations make the game run smoother?🤔
ОтветитьWhy not give all your dupes an extra bathroom break? Provided you have the bathrooms for them to use, 6.7 times 92 dupes times (for example) two bathroom breaks would net you a little over 1.2 tonnes of (polluted) water in excess after using it,all over the course of 1 cycle.
Maybe that'd make for a nice buffer of water until you get the chimney running, in exchange for a slot you could normally use for work.
Same thing happened with my petroleum boiler heat spike, but in my case I left the obsidian untouched in the bottom instead of a steel door, no debris was there with low enough melting point and still magma managed to get in
ОтветитьIs there any difference by digging and melting the ice biome
ОтветитьHow water positive is a rocket chimney anyways? Dont you need a bunch of oxygen to fuel it?
ОтветитьMore water from sinks. Build rooms with sinsks divided by rooms that contain germs. After passing through the room they should be wearing germs. In the next room the sinks will remove them. Anyway, several rooms in a row to increase the production of water from the sinks.
ОтветитьYou should install every mod optimizing performance of Oni. Someone mention that if you set priority of every duplicant, then performance will jump too.
ОтветитьQuestion: with the way that convection occurs (or doesn't), could it actually be occurring the way it does because of gravity (possibly microgravity)? That might also explain the way the fluids move.
ОтветитьNot sure if you knew: you can run desalinators underwater, helps keep them from overheating, but then you need atmo-dupes to clear the salt. I really enjoy what you're doing, keep it up!
Ответить@Francis John Can we use Drecko's Plastic to get Oxygen ?
ОтветитьYou need to remove all extra ladders you don't need. every ladder adds significant calculations to duplicant pathing. if you click a dupe and look at their pathing calculations you'll see why ladders are so bad.
ОтветитьWhen we reach a point where Francis comments and "oh new printable are available.. aaaand over here" lol
Leave it to Francis to do the things we will n e v e r do in this game xd
I'm crook at the moment, bundled up in front of the computer, vixed up, and that ''annnnd we're back'' is soothing to the soul.
ОтветитьThree things:
1. It's harder to melt POI structures without mods, now. Recent patch made ice makers able to overheat, so no more melting steel that way. I actually don't know if it's even possible, now.
2. What about polluted water off gassing? How does that compare to electrolyzers for O2 production?
3. I've always found the massive nerf diseases got before 1.0 disappointing. Doctors are basically useless! To counteract that, I came up with a challenge: Sporechids for decorations. Think it's possible to survive with that?
