It makes sense why they animated the movie Soul correctly cause the whole movie is literally about pianos

From a production point of view a lot of these make sense, trying to meet deadlines. Scoring and animation can be done at different times of a product causing or deadlines/budget.

It's kinda crazy how for the Ghost Bride, they animated a piano correctly... IN STOP MOTION. That's just so much extra effort for an animation style that is already one of if not the most difficult to do.

To add on for the Corpse Bride bit. In the actual movie, the sound is actually correct. If you listen to the soundtrack version of the Piano Duet, you'll see what I mean. Whatever clip you pulled the audio from just pitch shifted it up a half step, likey to try and avoid copyright.

In the corpse bride the A is 415hz instead of 440hz

Piano can kinda get away with it because there are a ton of keys, so as long as the shape is there, it takes scrutiny to tell if it's wrong. For stringed instruments, it's always crystal clear. It always makes me crack up when someone is just sitting on a note while the music has passionate vibrato, or their bow is 45° to the bridge or some shit lmao

I’d say that Soul the movie from pixar gotta be one of the most accurate piano animation, they really paying attention to that detail, even other instruments in that movie too

For the Coraline one it makes sense lore-wise because there just puppets nothing more and the beldam would make it sound like whatever she wanted it to be, but it is probably just animated wrong

I think they did moonlight sonata in that key to make it sound more like "For the Damaged Coda" which is a song they use a few times in the show.

This made me realise that gru plays the riff from money for nothing by dire straits, or at least something suspiciously similar
