I would love to see the drama of Númenor - Sauron - Haradrim play out in the Amazon series. What do you think?
ОтветитьI guess if there is going to be another dark lord. I am sure that harad will be on gondor side
ОтветитьPeople frequently seem to forget that Tolkien was writing a mythology for the English people, not a story about some fictional different world. Middle Earth is a part of our Earth. Its meant to be a mythology about our past. We are what becomes of the world after the events of Tolkien's mythology.
ОтветитьI find it cool that Tolkien was inspired by ancient Ethiopians, usually when people think about Africa they forget about the thousands of other kingdoms and dynasties..and just remember Egypt, Ethiopians have such a rich history so do many other nations of Africa that can be expanded on more in media. Africa is just not Egypt…thank you Tolkien
ОтветитьIt's a pity they didn't make a series about this place and the blue wizards.
ОтветитьLearn about actual history? Meh ..
Learn about the history of a world that doesn't actually exist? HELL YEAH!
Caught between the Hammer and the Andvil. I think that's an appropriate way of looking at it. Between Tolkien and Amazon.
ОтветитьI can't help but think that there is something of the Ottomans in the Haradrim. Middle Eastern looking people that helped the Orcs, which even though Tolkien denies it, kind look like the Germans with their sorta stalhelms... I'm sure there is a confluence of inspirations, but I really believe there is at least a subtle connection there. The good Haradrim would probably be the Palestinian tribes that allied with TE Lawrence.
Ответитьan exclusive video about the khand variags, the Huns of Middle-earth.
ОтветитьNot with 10,000 Men could You do this..
It is Folly..
Sauron did WHAT?
ОтветитьAll of this makes me wonder... why are the Blue Wizards considered to have failed in their mission? Apart from being unable to locate Sauron between the War of the Last Alliance & the War of the Ring, it seems that, by all accounts, they succeeded in their task of spreading dissent amongst the peoples of the East & South, & stirring up rebellion against those who worshipped Sauron & Morgoth.
ОтветитьBuild me an army worthy of Mordor
Ответитьtolkein imagining these male characters as extremely feminine makes no sense and is rather gay
ОтветитьDoes the name Haradrim come from the Haratin people (black moors) of Mauritania, Western Sahara Morocco and Algeria? The names sounds similar and the Haratin are a mayority in Mauritania but many of them where enslaved by the Beidane (white moors) who rule much of the country.
ОтветитьI was waiting all video for “stay a while and listen”😂😂
ОтветитьStay a while and listen... 👴
ОтветитьDude, we definetly must see more of this Haradrim who oposes Saurom.
ОтветитьThere it is! The Haradrim are blacks!
ОтветитьI would love to see a video about the creatures of the east and south
Ответить“If the Haradrim didn’t want war with the Gondor, they shouldn’t have attacked us on 9/11.” - American Media Enjoyer
ОтветитьI would love to see something written about these people. Like the great Bedouin nomads of the middle east, the people of Harad have their fair share of stories. Ones that need telling.
ОтветитьLove your videos! Where do you get your art from btw?
ОтветитьHaradrim is like Asia and Africa…..always losing
ОтветитьLove to hear a full disclosure of 4th age!
ОтветитьThis video makes you realize how vast is the world Tolkien created. While there’s a lot to be answered regarding the first age (thanks Cristopher Tolkien so much for releasing all those pages), we know almost nothing about the East and the two blue Stari. I hope someday in the afterlife I can get to meet Tolkien so he tells me everything.
ОтветитьTolkien wrote that 2 of the Istari, the Blue Wizards, went East. It is also stated that Saruman went East. It goes without saying that Saruman & the Blue Wizards went South as well. The 2 Blue Wizards went to stir up trouble against Sauron. Saruman would have aided them in some way. The Blue Wizards fell. Either turned to Sauron's cause, or perhaps killed. (I hope this is not too off topic, what if Saruman actually died? How would things in the West gone & would the White Council struck out earlier upon Gandalf's finding Sauron?)
ОтветитьHear me out. Total war:LOTR
ОтветитьWhat map is this?
Ответитьa beautiful continent made terrible by its low iq population. who woulda thunk
ОтветитьIf the the hobbits know of mumakil and have their own name for it. I think its safe to assume even one hobbits recounting of the wereworms of the East to be at least reasonably reliable.
ОтветитьI know what happens in all the southlands 😮😉 whispers these lands are brutal.....savagely brutal.
Ответить"Realizing he can't win by military might . . ."
Ah, but did he realize he couldn't win, or just know it would be easier to win by becoming their prisoner and thus subjecting them to his corruption?
They were all white in the movies🤔
ОтветитьAmazing work as usual!!!
ОтветитьI just love learning about the different nations and cultures. The haradrim actually inspired my book for the darklands.
To some up at the end of the great wars groups from many demi humans fled far south west that was remote but the land not fully fertile. Three tribes are formed and a ruined fortresss untouched but having a tradition to establish a new overlord of the tribe. They would need to face a great beast in the pits below and bring a trophy. This tradition stays for centuries and two tribes would change and become more good then the third.
The main character travels to these lands and takes the ruin fortress in the far north as his own and aided the two tribes in preventong a war by taking the third tribes lands. However the people welcome this new overlord as a hero as he offers wealth and with his magic fertilise's the lands. After some time a new nation is both as the dark bretheren have faded. And the grand magic empire is born. Under this new empire the people build cities, great farms and even a canal system with their new leaders aid with the remaining two overlords still overlords of their lands but work with their friend the main character in creating a bright future for their people.
Brilliant video. We know it takes a lot of time and hard work to make these videos. So we always appreciate your hard work and time to make these videos ❤️🔥🔥.
ОтветитьI love that there was some greater discussion of the activities of the Blue Wizards in this video. It makes me want to believe that they, like Gandalf, stayed true to their original purpose in coming to Middle-Earth in the first place with their efforts in the East and the South.
ОтветитьI wish we got to see more of the far East and South and the lifestyles lived there
ОтветитьIs Harad a unified Realm or what?
ОтветитьReally enjoy your content!👍👊
ОтветитьI've always loved that little bit from Sam's perspective on the dead Harad warrior. It really sounds like Tolkein having an aside with his readers, recounting his own experiences of the Great War. It also makes the reader pause for a minute, and consider the violence unfolding as more than simple fantasy "good vs evil."
ОтветитьI wonder, did the different peoples of Middle Earth know Eru Illuvatar? We have religions here, did they have no religions in middle earth? Why didnt anyone worship Eru?
ОтветитьGreat, now I gotta know the difference between the "Haradrim" and the "Horadrim."
ОтветитьSurley Tolkien based Haradrim on the north afrikan empire of Karthage and Hannibal 🐘
ОтветитьAlways wanted to know (cant get ahold of a lot of the books yet for fair price) Is Minas Morgul at the former site of Gondolin?
Ответить
