I have a topps 50 year rookie card of this man. Want to get it graded soon
ОтветитьI just noticed that home run that Mike Blowers predicted in Toronto lands in virtually the same place Dave Stieb caught the ball that broke up that no-hitter in his last game as a Blue Jay. Wow.
ОтветитьMy uncle Kev was a former Marine who grew up in seattle he was always the cool uncle it was odd he was apart of a break dancing crew in the late 80s and was the only white dude in "The Crew" He was the best dancer i had ever seen doin moonwalks in the morning to the mailbox through the front lawn in boxers with a Budweiser in hand he was ice cold ...
he was a lifelong Mariner fan . I can remember him religiously watching. Every game and every now and again i would pop off with (how shitty they were)
and he would nearly beat my ass . He would always say you dont give up your team. And its just something your young ass would never understand ... Thanks for helping me understand. 😢 Rest in Peace uncle Kev 45 Years wasnt long enough
It amazes me how many people simply refuse to acknowledge thaf Ichiro is simply the greatest hitter of the ball the games ever seen. Total hits be damed rose couldnt hold a candle to him. He has the greater totals but lesser accomplishments.
ОтветитьIf 9/11 didn’t happen the Mariners would have taken the World Series that year. That break baseball took after the attacks too the wind out of the sails.
ОтветитьThe Dorktown episode on Shohei is going to be 7 feature length parts and I'm going to shotgun them in one go.
I have begun training and conditioning to do so. I may still not survive. I meet my fate with pride and happiness.
Fantastic Doc, top notch including soundtrack 👍👍👍
ОтветитьThe ONLY thing I didn't like about Suzuki is how long he took between every single pitch. His "get ready" routine was over a minute between pitches sometimes and it was exhausting to watch. But other than that, he is a true class act. More than deserving of every accolade he has and probably deserves a couple more.
ОтветитьFun fact: Ichiro still plays in Japan as of 2023, he now pitches across the country, most notably against a high school girls team
ОтветитьNot just Ichiro but the entire nation of Japan has a work ethic that is unrivaled. Americans can learn a lot from them.
ОтветитьThis is making me insanely sad and I am a Yankees fan
ОтветитьI've seen all the great players since 1990 and Ichiro is one of the best I've ever seen live and in person! He was truly on another level.
ОтветитьICHIRO SUZUKI....even I can't argue with his style.....☆☆☆☆☆
ОтветитьI am not American and I didn't understand baseball, until I heard Ichiro signing with Mariners..
After 2001 I had followed MLB and Sensei Ichiro.
I love the game now.
IMHO he's the GOAT. Hits, steals, consistency, and defense are more important than just hitting homers.
Ответитьit is TOO LATE,,,,MARINERS ARE THE ORPHANS OF BASEBALL,,,,ANOTHER REALM....another realm of TRAGEDY, insignificance and utter hopelessness,,,Poor Julio
ОтветитьGod I love that guy! Ichiro is a God
ОтветитьImagine if Ichiro played in the MLB instead of Japan his first 9 years as a pro. He woulda easily broke many batting and fielding records. Im just thankful that he came and graced us with his skills. Hes one of my favorite baseball players of all time and Im a Orioles fan.
ОтветитьNow we need Ichiro in mlb the show
ОтветитьThe Ichiro quote was cold as hell, but the announcer screaming “I SEE THE LIGHT” is my favorite
ОтветитьThis series made me feel so awesome. I've lived in the Seattle area my entire life and will always be a mariners fan. This gives me a way to explain what it's like to be M's fan to other people.
Ответить2001 AL Rookie of The Year and AL MVP in the same season, must be amazing That’s rare because you mostly get rookie of the year for best rookie in both leagues, but getting rookie of the year and league MVP that’s huge, he was a great athlete, he didn’t have to hit a bunch of home runs in order to be great because individual numbers are hall fame worthy, he was a great team player, he was a great fielder and a really good batter, why wouldn’t you put him in the Cooperstown National Baseball Hall of Fame? He’s well deserving of that honor, Ichiro Suzuki deserves it.
ОтветитьWatching a green line go up has never been so epic and scary at the same time.
Ответитьtotally stealing that line so I can keep my dog's business my dog's business
Ответитьthe postseason drought is over! they made it to the LDS and got swept by the inevitable WS champs
ОтветитьIchiro may not have the most hits in MLB history but he does have the most hits by a professional baseball player. when you combine his accomplishments in the NPB and MLB. I've never seen a hitter with the ability to but the ball where he wanted it like Ichiro, Those slappers were designed to bounce over the heads of infielders.
Ответитьi grew up with the angels, 60’s onward. they provided access to affordable major league baseball and a good foil to the dodgers, eventually.
ОтветитьHad Ichiro come visit my Elementary, signed one of my balls and still have it to this day
ОтветитьI grew up in Washington, my whole family did. My aunt knew a guy who did garage work for Ichiro. He noticed Ichiro’s bat collection and starting swinging them, what he didn’t know was that Ichiro had a camera system in his garage and saw him do it. Ichiro responded by sending the guy an autographed bat and a 100 dollar gift certificate to the Cheesecake Factory. That was the type of dude he was!
ОтветитьThis series is incredible. There's a beauty and raw emotion to all this that you don't see anywhere else in sports.
ОтветитьMuy likeo musiks i nerduo momento
ОтветитьIs was sad when I became a Ichiro fan 2 years before he retired but every time when some ask me why do I like the Mariners I always say becuase of what Ichiro and his team mets did. I think baseball will never see another player as good as Ichiro who started in his late tweeters and was playing like baseball players in their upper 10's to lower 20's. Never forgotten Ichiro.
ОтветитьAnyone here after the 7 run comeback?????
ОтветитьMariners have been trash for a long time and It’s painful and extremely frustrating to watch them lose for so long. I don’t know why you’re saying success is irrelevant. It’s not. Finally they are turning it around though it seems. It will be nice to see them make the playoffs.
ОтветитьWatching this hurts me. 21 minute mark had me in tears.
ОтветитьI grew up about an hour and half away from Seattle and the fever the city had with him still remains untouched. My birthday present for 5 or 6 years was going to a Mariners game so I could watch Ichiro! Great memories!
ОтветитьAwful video.
ОтветитьSeattle sports fans are truly special. So proud to be among them!!!
ОтветитьIchiro embodies humility and class in such an incredible way! I wish I was older when I watched him play at those Little League days so I could have truly appreciated just how much of a legend he was
ОтветитьKGJ was traded because A-Rod wanted him gone.
ОтветитьCooperstown better show out for him in '25. The man is historic on a different level.
Ответить
