ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS:
- the recipe in details: Get a blue black box hair dye, use a table spoon of the dye mix (paste and liquid) add to it 3 table spoons of shampoo (white or transparent regular shampoo) mix then add a tea spoon of water. Keep mixing and apply it to dry hair in a good light source to see it until it reaches a shade you like then wash it right away. Note that sulphate free shampoos and such don’t work. - wet or dry hair? I tried it on both but wet hair tends to look darker so it’s hard to know when to wash it off. Also anything you do to wet hair is more damaging as the hair follicle is open so you can’t comb the color through to get even results.

30 years !!! 30 years I’ve been wasting money on purple & blue toners. Hairdressers telling me I need to go every 6 weeks!! This is amazing. Thank you!! I did it twice because my hair was very orange, I also left it on for about 5 minutes the second time. My hair did go darker (because I left it on a while) but it’s a lovely ashy grey/blonde.

It worked! I'm 41 and have never been able to tone my brassy hair (much at all) until now. I needed to use more, as I have very long hair. Applied it to dry hair, left it in there maybe 1-2 minutes, then rinsed. I have some grey hair and was scared it might turn them blue but it didn't. I had tried it 2 weeks ago on wet hair, and with less dye and it didn't work. Only downside of this technique is it dries the hair very much.

Just tested it today, It works perfectly well, I have dark brown hair, wanted to go for a dark Ash Blonde, I went through the piss orange phase and this recipe removed all the orange before my final colour and it's even close that what I wanted at the end. 💯

Please, if you have anything close to orange tones, try this first. Even if you’ve toned your hair, and it didn’t quite work (damn you wella t14) try this next. Literally THE BEST and EASIEST way to tone hair. Heaven sent in my time of need. Thank you ❤

I love you I'm Sarah from Australia I love your video I have been looking for something that would help me. I did a home job on my hair as I live in a part of Queensland that is and has no hairdressers so I decided to do my regrowth myself and my hair turned orange and yellow, so I'm about to go to the shop and get some of the black guy to fix it I'll let you know how I go

I just did it. It worked better then anything else I've ever tired. I used a color called intense indigo it was a very midnight blue almost black..
I had just bleached my hair and had the super bright orange into peach and apricot lol
I was so nervous doing it..
And I had done chunks so it was kinda hard to apply directly on the orange only parts and some did get in my lighter yellow blonde ends.. And those are definitely a lil more gray silver ash then I would prefer but that was mostly on my side part bands who could stand a trim anyways so I think that will be fine
I missed a lil bit of the orange but it looks so so so so much better .I'm in shock.
Do you realize if your hair was pretty porous and frizzled from the bleach do not leave this in too long. Your better off doing it maybe a lil too fast and later trying again then going too long.
My hair took barely 2 mins the darkest orange parts could of probably done 3
My other tip for next time I try might be do one side at a time cuz it's easy to loose track of time when trying to make sure the 2nd side is getting as saturated as first side and wiping up any drips on the sink or wall lol
So you know do a practice run. Mix it up . Wait for it to turn blue then work on one section, get a feel for your time and rinse . See how you like it.. Then adjust for next side.. You can always do it again later etc
I agree I did prefer doing it on dry hair too be honest I could see what it was doing a little better.
I'm also thinking getting a actual application bottle may of been easier

Omg literally just tried this and left it on for like 2 mins in the shower and it worked soooo well! Literally been buying redken shades eq non stop because the toner never seems to last or cover/tone correctly. This is sooooo much cheaper and does it the FIRST time. Never going back to any toner and Will constantly use this trick. Thank you soo much!

Omg, thank you so much!! 😭 I box dyed my hair in november for 3 times, the black started to fade off so I dicedid i go to the hair salon and they can put me balayage.. they had to bleach my hair 2 weeks ago, but after the colour already came out and turned orangey. I wanted to dye my hair for brown then i saw this video and I did now and it’s perfect, I almost got my natural hair colour back!! Thank you, thank you!!! 🥰

I tried it out of pure desperation after dying my long, virgin ash brown hair and of course ruining it despite of anti-brass promises of a producer of drugstore bought dye. But it worked! Saved me from hairdresser appointment really. The color I was stuck with (antique goldish) got nicely toned dark ash blonde. I think this method is brilliant. I kind of want to also try aubergine dye (purple-black) as toner and see where can I get with that.

I'm a licensed hairdresser and I have a client that just keeps pulling brassiness. She loves a baby blond tone and at one point we had that going on but either her hair changed a little bit or she's on some medication that's messing up the vibe. So today I just used the usual 12.11 and a squirt of 10.13 and some intense Blue drops to kill it. While it improved the over all tone of the hair it wasn't baby blond. I'm curious about this blue black color for blond hair! It actually works with out deepening that hair? She really likes being very pale baby blond. So not sure if she would be game to try that. I use COR color and I DO use a sulphate free shampoo as I'm allergic to sulfates and COR color line demands the client and hair-colorist to use a sulphate free shampoo. So the comment about using this type of shampoo and it not working has be questioning this technique. IT seems interesting but not sure if I should give a go. I'm actually out researching solutions and came across this vid.

The hardest color to neutralize is orange on brown after you had bleached, because some bits get ( yellow- orange), so your brain thinks the level is maybe 7. I like your method, and may try it - but I finally figured out level 6ab ( ash- beige), EQ shades mixed w their solution killed the brass. It costs like $20 total, but still way cheaper than a salon. Yeah, years & years of purple & blue manic panic in conditioner. Hardly lasts. Thanks 4 this ( secret) 😊

This “trick” saved my sanity! Natural hair color is medium ash brown with gray/white mixed in. Stopped dying my hair the warm chocolate/caramel color 8 months ago to grow out my natural color. The bottom five inches of my hair were bright/brassy orange and I was wearing my hair in buns & ponies for months since my hair looked gross. since I have very thick, medium length hair, I quadrupled the recipe of toner and dye and added two small travel size bottles of shampoo. I managed to have enough to cover my entire head and I left it on about 10 to 12 minutes after finishing the top layer. I was extremely nervous and didn’t want to overdo it, but I am happy with the results. The brassiness is gone and the line of demarcation between my natural and the orange is practically invisible. My gray/white hairs are a tint of gray/blue, but look fine. The next time I do this, I will definitely leave it on for about 15 minutes or so, especially on the top layer ends as they are not as processed as the underneath. Thank you for this tutorial!!!!
