ОтветитьHow do you export your character from maya to unreal ? what do you select ? only the geometry? what fbx settings do you use ? I either get a ton of error when importing, or no error but it's not the correct geo :/
ОтветитьCan we use Live link to render out scenes from a cartoon series we are making ? for example, we have a shot with two characters, in a forest, so the forest is created in Unreal engine, we have the characters imported into Unreal engine and blueprint actors created from them, now the problem is , if the two characters are dancing in the animation we have done in maya, and the maya camera just goes around them 360, how do we bring this into unreal and set them up in the forest we created, if we drag the characters in to the viewport the actual world space will it match, then how does the camera match ? can live link solved these problems ?

ОтветитьI'm working with Maya 2019 and unreal 4.23.1 and so far everything is fine till I get to the bus source part and nothing is popping up in the list. Has anyone had this problem too and if so did you solve it and if so again how would I go about solving it?

You should download a Plug-in from Marketplace, and should have UE4.23 at least installed. Than go to UE_4.23\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\MayaLiveLink\Binaries and select folder of your maya version. There you will find .mll file you are looking for
I can't find the MayaLiveLinkPlugin201x.mll file in gitHub repository. How to get this file for linking Maya to UE4?
ОтветитьI love you Unreal Engine, But for the love of god next time you say "The build info is in the documentation" PLEASE just explain how to install it, I just spent 3 hours trying to get this damn thing to work on Maya 2019 and wasted my night, finally got it installed but jesus that was a pain. DO NOT follow the link in the documentation, download from the unreal app store and then the plugin will be in your Engine folder of your unreal folder. I know he said this in the video but I had not yet downloaded the plugin from the store, did not see it there and went on a tirade to find in the online documentation where I got abunch of codes that I am absolutely clueless on how to use

ОтветитьHi I see in your video you have a fully rigged character from paragon. i am currently working on a animation of my own and i would like to use a rig from paragon or the market from unreal but I just cant figure out how to transport the rig from unreal to maya. Maybe its impossible but i read that people worked on the animation so i was just wondering if anyone can help me with this. Thanks in advance

I'm literally animating in Maya and I'm using the engine as an extra viewport. A fully rendered REAL TIME viewport (go immersive mode)!

ОтветитьHi, I was able to make the unreal Maya Link successfully. However, it updates in real time only the bones. Is the plugin capable of updating the blendshapes in real time?
It would be interesting for the facial mocap.
