I think "what class is best" also depends on a person's play style. If you're not good at remembering to dodge out of AoEs, then maybe a tank with a huge HP pool might be better than a squishier class. If you get stressed about dealing lots of damage, then maybe something that heals or controls the battle field is more your style. I'd also say that it depends if you prefer solo content over joining parties for group content.
