Right after the 2016 elections, i remember being part of a game at a conference for queer youth talking about world stuff, and someone was put on the spot to answer the question "what do you think of the election results?" I didn't know much at the time about either of them, I was only 12 or 13. But i remember the person who answered saying "well, I think we had two very bad candidates, but I think we ended up with the lesser of two evils." And boy i sure hope they were right, I hope that the alternative would have been so much worse because otherwise we went through all of this for nothing.
