Do they still send your luggage directly to hotel on arrival then send to airport for departure?

Thanks for you review. I loved Magical Express, especially the baggage claim and check process, so sad there is no option like that. But glad there is an option for families so they don't have to worry about car seats that was my biggest concern when I learned ME was going away. My mom is local in Florida so we may use it, we may not, but glad to now we have options. The drop-off time doest sound all that different from ME, so not really a downgrade there.

Great review, Bekah! I definitely think that they had some wrinkles to iron out, but it definitely sounds like they did. We are taking it back to the airport in a couples weeks and excited to try it out!

We just used Mears connect a couple of weeks ago. We only did one way because we were staying at Pop Century for one night before we boarded the Disney dream. We had a great experience. We checked in and walked straight onto the bus. We were one of the last people on the bus, so as soon as we were on pretty much the bus left. And we were the first stop so we were off the bus pretty quickly as well. There was a man in front of us who was super angry because he had paid for the premium service, and did not get picked up in a van like he thought he would, instead he got picked up in this bus and they promised him that he would be the first stop, which is why we were the first stop because he was also staying at Pop Century. He pretty much complained about it the entire ride and about how he was going to call to get his money back. I’m not sure what really happened with that, but we personally had a great experience. We have a family of five, but this trip was just my husband and I. However, I think even with the five of us I would still do this again just because of the ease of it.

This makes me feel so much better about using the service! The bad reviews were a little concerning at first. 😅

We used Mears Connect a few weeks ago leaving Disney and we had a good experience! We arrived a little early and the driver let us take a earlier bus.

Thank you so much for your review! I wanted to mention that you can only add the MEARS luxury service to your Walt Disney World package, not the basic shuttle service. The basic shuttle service can only be booked directly on MEARS website! :)

Did you forget to go to retrieve your luggage? With the Magical Express it was so nice to not have to go and retrieve your luggage and have it magically appear in your room later.

Hi Becca so with mirrors connect I can’t have a clipboard system or a radio that shows all the Disney movies and all of that now? And how can they switched it over to an electronic system?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried the Mears shuttle service of a large SUV for a family of 5 and how it differs from Mears Connect ? I see that it's cheaper than the Express service of Mears connect.

What time of day did you land at the airport?

So if it’s 32 dollars per person and you have 3 adults and 2 kids, is it really cheaper than an Uber?

I want to make sure we get on the same bus because she will be 30 weeks pregnant lol. However if I get delayed a long time I want her to be able to go ahead without me lol. I think it would be helpful to know what time month or time of year you visited, how big your party was and the days you arrived & departed. I would think that Mears (like Disney transportation) have full services during busy seasons (Christmas, Easter, holidays, vacation Summer) and scaled back services when the theme parks are not as busy. (I doubt Mears is going to run a full, large bus to WDW with only two people). The day of the week could make a difference as well, weekends being busier and week days lighter. Thank you for your review. I want to take Mears, but I am still undecided. 🤔

The express service isn't necessarily private, their website does state that in their FAQ. It might end up being a shared ride if there is another party going to the same resort at the same time.

Great video, if anyone knows where to get info on non Disney transportation. Virtually impossible to get detailed info on transportation for someone stays my in a no. Disney resort like even a partner hotel…. Someone gonna get all the views once somebody makes a video

Thank you for all the tips and how to use this service. I haven’t been to WDW since 2000 and can’t wait to go in August. This service will get us around while we are visiting. I am a Disneyland pro so we are taking my daughter to do the Disney college program and will play before she starts. 🌸🌼

Glad to hear that they have fixed some of the issues. We took Mears in January on their 2nd day, and it was not good. The process getting to Disney was fine but the process to return to the airport was a mess. Going back in August - trying Sunshine Flyer so we have tried both and can decide who to use in the future.

I will stick with Uber cause i am special needs & disability I do not know how to work most apps that is part of my learning disability.I am going in october. & wished they had something more for disability people. That is why I a m getting the disability access pass for disney & universal & other parks. nI don't think they will work with people like me. When I can get to my hotel fast via uber.

We are off to Disney World in 3 weeks. We are using Mears connect for a family of 4 as it seems easy and more affordable way to travel for us. Thanks for a great review.

Used this service a couple weeks ago and it was not even close to my past experiences with Magical Express. My family took many vacations to Disney before COVID and I was always happy with Magical Express and even Mears back in the pre magical express days. Because of that I didn't hesitate to book Mears Connect as I assumed the experience would be the same. Instead, we found that despite saying limited stops on their website they filled the bus with a disregard for number of stops. We were staying at the Boardwalk and it took us an hour and a half to get there as they stopped at basically every Disney Springs, Epcot and Hollywood Studio resort along the way. We stopped at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Port Orleans, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Caribbean Beach, Riviera, Dolphin and Swan. The only reason we didn't stop at the Yacht Club/Beach Club is we were the last ones on the bus. I never had more than three stops on Magical Express in the past. Needless to say, I won't be using this again as the last thing I want to do is sit on a bus for that long after a long flight. On a positive note, on the return trip to the airport, we were the last pickup so it was a quick trip when leaving.

Express service is not private, only that there will be minimum waait tim leaving the airport and your resort will be the first stop.

How did they handle your luggage for you? Do you check in your luggage? Did you load it on the bus? Did they load it on the bus? Also did you tip the driver?

What about luggage. Do you pick up your bags then go to the bus?

I haven't been down to Disney World in over 20 years, just booked my first trip with the family for next year, so never experienced Magical Express. Every time I've been down I've ridden Mears and have never had a problem. I'm sure things have changed, especially since they no longer have Magical Express, and Mears getting use to a new system, but as long as you know going in that you're going to make a stop or two either going to, or coming from, your resort you'll have a great trip.

thanks for the super helpful vid! i'm going back to wdw for the second time since they got rid of magical express. last time was a last minute trip and we used uber to/from the airport. this time i'm trying to plan it out better and look at all the options. definitely considering mears connect.

Wonder if family of 4 (2 kids with 1 stroller) Uber or Lyft will be the same price or close and go directly to the resort or airport? Anyone with experience could you fill me in please.

What about luggage. Did you have to pick it up yourself and put it on the bus. We use to get tags…so our luggage was sent right to our room.

Their website says the bus comes every 15-20 minutes. Uh, no. Standing in line right now (7-8-2024) and it’s been 40 minutes with no bus in sight.

I am taking the mears connect with my 3.5 year old in 2 weeks. i dont drive, so i needed an option that would accommodate my toddler and i know few ubers have car seats, and minnie van doesnt go to the airport unless you're club level, so this was my option. I've done Magical Express many times on my own, so this feels like its still fairly similar. Love that ability to track your driver when leaving!
