There was so much suspense in this event, with a Hollywood style finish. The love from France for their team is extraordinary to watch.

France was absolutely carried here. Japan was 3-1 to a win, Hifumi Abe is on the fight and his opponent (already having being penalized twice during the fight) goes to golden score and, with Abe leading the iniciativa for three and a half minutes gets absolute no penalties for being passive. Same story next bout, again golden score no penalties either side. And Lord and behold the final decisive bout is in the same category that Terry had already won.

It’s an easy win when you know you have the “home factor” and judges don’t penalize you isn’t it?! Shameful to the Olympics and to Judo but hey… what a great day for France!
