Edit: After looking at the comments, yeah I’d probably move riptide up, just under sweeping edge. I still don’t think it’s great but I underrated it. Fire protection still sucks though everyone saying it’s good are insane.

One of the only good thing with fire prot is making god armour

2 peices with fire protection + 2 with a normal protection will give you additional time in lava with a bit of a loss of protection. It IS useful, especially in the nether, where lava flows and kills faster.

Correction: Unbreaking works differently for armor. It only increases durability like 43%. 300% is still right for everything else.

fire protection is good just simply downgrade to 1.14 and then you have all the protections in one item and also it shortens the time of you being on fire

If youll just wear one blast prot piece, youll get 60% of tge resistance of the full set. So its still usefull

There’s a use for fire protection. If you haven’t gone to the nether you can’t make a fire res potion. But it’s not important. Just get fire res.

its really helpful when fighting phantoms and the end dragon since in the phontoms case you usualy want a better chance at hitting them with how erratic they can be and with the dragon its just free damage and if your sniping with it it also helps with landing a hit
(plus i use a crossbow like a shotgun anyways so its just free damage in my eyes lol)

Bro my specialty is impaljng and riptide PvP while it’s raining. On my server it’s my main weapon

Riptide is easily one of the most fun enchantments to get. You can outpace any player in the water, even if they have boats and you can fly around on a rainy day without an elytra. This is great in servers that outright ban elytras. When combined with one, you go so fast that you can crash servers.

The main problem with Riptide is that Depth Strider works against it. For some reason, while you can launch yourself horizontally 30 blocks in one swing, with Depth Strider that value is cut by half (15 blocks). It has something to do with 'drag'. If Mojang fixed Riptide and Depth Strider and made it so that Depth Strider instead DOUBLED the dash from Riptide, I would love it SO much.

Despite efficiency being a great enchantment overall I will never not be annoyed at how useless efficiency 5 is

swift sneek is actually really good for building in high up places, it lets u move around quick-ish without worry of falling.

one thing to mention is that swift sneak makes bridging faster if you don't want to risk speed bridging

I thing ranking curses is stupid becouse ather are DESIGNED to be bad. The same way you have Wes from dont starve. Hes a challange character. Hes worse that the base character by design.

I think blast port should be higher up cuz of crystal pvp and as for the trident it’s also good for pvp use such a replacement for ender pearls knockback on swords is also good for crystal pvp and knockback 1 isn’t bad for netherite pvp either

Regarding Sweeping Edge, there is one downside. You are more prone to friendly firing your wolf when you’re both attacking the same entity. I’ve lost like, 3 wolves from that.

I'd say that, contrary to popular belief, silk touch is the most important enchantment, as it is the only one capable of indirectly expanding your inventory slots.
Think about it for a second, would you rather have self-repairing tools or 27 extra inventory slots (729 given that you use them all for shulker boxes)

i only have fire protection because in peaceful(the difficulty i mostly play on) i can stay in the lava forever so i dont have to brew fire resistance potions. also i have an armor with protection for when i exit peaceful mode

Smite is the best damage enchant. The majority of mobs you encounter are the undead, and it does more damage than Sharpness.

Piercing is kinda good cause it can go through shields

Riptide + slow falling potion (nether wart-> phantom membrane) is the poor man’s elytra in the rain, just be careful where you go and the timer

S+ tier is a bit weird, I’d choose prot IV over mending/unbreaking if I had to pick one or the other. You can just farm more armor

IM FUMING WDYM RIPTIDE IS BAD ITS A TRIDENT THAT CAME FROM THE SEE AND ITS IN THE NAME rip-TIDE… Fu***NG TIDE AS IN WATER AND HOW WOULD THAT WORK IF YOU WERE IN WATER THE GAME WOULDNT KNOW WHETHER TO THROW THE TRIDENT OR USE RIPTIDE!!! So think plus they need to have some restrictions for it or else it would not make sense and it would be to powerful.

I'd say fire protection is good on a golden helmet for when you go around the nether or for new players that don't know how to avoid lava or get potions early, there's literally nothing that will kill you with prot IV on all the other armor pieces except the helmet other than a geared up player, so if you are in a survival with friends it can help either you or them get out of a sticky situation in the nether or the overworld

Edit: you only need to enchant at level 20 on an enchantment table to be able to get fire prot 4 on a gold piece of armor, so it's nice to have before going to the nether

I think fire prot is not as good as protection in general but I just have it on my boots and the it’s used better

Crossbows are trash you ain’t the only one that don’t like crossbow I’m more of a bow

i came here after watching the other effects video first, i was laughing so hard at the comments towards the end, personally ive been playing since i was like 15 and ive never once beaten the game because i dont play for that, i play for pleasure , make my own stories and personally im kind of a dingus so enchantments were never much of a concern for me, i'd still find a way to die horribly x3
