It's funny. I've never had any issues with durability on any of my Hokas. I'm factz Hoka have been the brand I've used that have held up the best.

Picked up the Tecton X2 on the Hoka site on discount for £128.99 (it’s still on there but probably need to be quick). I think you’re probably getting more for your money on a deal like that.

For me HOKA tecton x for longer distances en torrent for anything else. I never enjoyed the SG, imo overhyped. Sadly i never tried the EVO

For trail, I can’t recommend the Saucony Exodus Ultra 3 enough. Had the SG4’s but went off Hoka

I love the speedgoat 5, I have run my longest runs in those shoes and that is the only shoe that kept my feet happy for runs lasting sveral hours. This seems to be a safe upgrade when I need to replace the version 5.

The SG5 and SG6 are just a shadow of their former self. Hoka, please bring back something that resembles the SG3 or Evo. These latest efforts are not even close.

I agree with your initial thoughts. I’ve been really enjoying the 6 and do prefer it to the 5.

Same problems as the Speedgoat 5: non-full Vibram Megagrip rubber sole, no anti-rock plate and CMVA midsole (softer but with the same lack of resilience as the version).

Merrell Agility Peak 5 and Asics Trabuco 12 remain ahead of the SpeedGoat 6.
