Does anyone know the app that used to show green bars and tons of them to show the temperature on the Mac? I remember paying for it to upgrade to full version but forgot the name :D

Last week I got an 1100 Euro discount on a 16" M1max 64GB RAM. So it was just a tat more expensive than a 15" air with 24GB, now that is the kind of deal you should be looking for.

The Best Buy now is MBP14'' M1Pro 10c/16c 16gb 1tb. There are still some new or refurbished in MBA/MBP M2 price.
1.8c/14c comes usually with much slower 512gb and M1 Max is much more expensive an more power consumption.
2.If you don't really need 32gb for ram hungry apps like After Effects and other full pro programs buy a 16gb. Ram is so quick and so good optimized with fast SSD and SoC then swap is unnoticeable.
3. 16" the same spec is good for people who need bigger screen, better battery life and don't care about portability.
This spec should be good for next 5 years until macOS update will come.

I bought M1 pro Macbook Pro 14" in Oct. 2022. It was incredibly outstanding for me since the screen, design and sound quality is super great. I still use this machine till now and still amazed.

The MacBook Air 15 is the best in my opinion! 13 being to small, 15 is the right size and really light weight compared to the others 15" on the market.

So basically performance under loads is more correlated to the number of fans than the BIOS and chipsets. Basically a fan under production cost can cost apple less than $0.5/ each and they didn't bother to put one in their basic config?

I still have my m1 air and I’m so happy with it, it does video editing without a stutter and it’s so fast after a year and a half. Probably in the next year I’ll upgrade

if you travel a lot outside or even in and around your home the 15 inch is perfect....if you dont move around much the 14/16 pro is perfect...

M1 is the way to go. I just bought an used M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16 with 1TB SSD for $1350. Looks new and battery health at 100% with only 6 cycles

I got myself the 15 Air with 24GB RAM and 256 SSD, the reason why I went with the configuration is cause I use a gaming monitor as a 2nd Monitor display which can use significant energy when I have 2 windows open on an browser so that extra RAM is very useful and there is NO alternatives for extra ram while I do have a 5TB external hard drive which there is many alternatives and having a bigger screen on the MacBook Air for less then 2000 bucks is just insane value. I was thinking at a Pro version at first but just to have the 14 M2 Pro is already 2000 bucks + tax and I don’t really need the HDMI port since I already have a USB Hub, overall I love the portability of the MacBook Air 15 and upgrading it from my Intel 2020 MacBook Air is a huge Win for me! Especially adding the Educational Pricing Discount! 👍

From my experience, if you're not a content creator, most MacBook users will be perfectly fine with the performance of the M1 chip. In fact, the processing power of the M1 is often overkill in many cases. What matters more to these users is RAM and SSD storage. Therefore, instead of purchasing the latest M2 MacBook Air, many people would be better served by using that money to upgrade the RAM and SSD on an M1 Air. Saying that 8GB of RAM is sufficient for those who don't need to do video editing is misleading. I've seen many people, especially university students, regret not upgrading to 16GB because they didn't realize that having multiple Chrome tabs, PDF documents, and Office applications open simultaneously can consume a lot of RAM.

Happy with my base model MBA M2

My M1 air is just perfect in 2023, no reason to go for faster chips if you use it to study, do reading or even do office work in it which is what I do with it. I got the 16gb and 512gb version.

I do 3d rendering, modelling with Blender as well as programming and I have found that my base model 14" MacBook Pro is more than capable of handling my workflow.

Best Way is WAIT for M3 line-up :)
..or after that buy CHEAPER previous ;)
