Cyberpunk 2077: What is the Danger Behind the Black Wall? Explained

So huge question: where is all this malware and rogue AI hosted? They gotta be hosted on a physical server or data center somewhere, why not just reset or destroy that and wipe out the giant intangible and (supposedly) unstoppable lovecraftian menace that constantly threatens to bring about armageddon? Seems like a huge plot hole written by someone who doesn't understand how the internet works

I know sci-fi stories are going to have plot holes. I get it. But the black wall is just too much for me to look past. All that dangerous AI has to exist on physical hardware somewhere. On top of that, advanced AI requires considerably more powerful hardware than any regular software. For a rogue AI to infect some random machine would be a bit like trying to hack a Commodore 64 so you can use it as a Diablo game server.

The only case I can see for any of this is that corporations allow these AI programs to exist as a bogeyman used for scaring the rest of the population into compliance. Any AI that gets too far off the leash can have its hardware physically shut off, and the threat of these programs is used to keep a fractured internet where various companies maintain absolute control.

I also hate the side mission where you discover Rache Bartmoss and his old cyberdeck. Nothing, and i mean nothing, on a 50-year-old computer has any chance of being dangerous today. That mission was so ridiculous, the old cyberdeck may as well have been a telegraph machine.

Still confused as to why the AI's are a problem. It's not like the internet is a fairy tale fourth dimensional world that cannot be influenced. It's just computers talking to other computers. If a computer is infected, remove it. If all computers are effected, than download the uncorrupted data and upload it to a secure computer that is unconnected into the main web. Than simply disconnect all other computers that still contain viruses, and make the new secure computer the main net host.

Is it not possible to find the servers where the dangerous AI´s are stored and deactivate them? They are just software after all and need the hardware to work.

So there's a bit of audio in game from Mike pondmiths radio station and I'd like someone to make a independent theory video about this. It's the audio where Mike talks about how the Blackwell sings in Aramaic, the net wasn't invented by bartmos he discovered it, daemons are actually demonic spirits/demons, netwatch has origins in the Vatican, and the net is hell. I'd like to see a vid discussing this theory in more detail and possibly even referring to biblical lore to see if the theory checks out

My theory is that Phantom Liberty will involve V taking on AI that is hiding behind the black wall. The same AI that is manipulating politicians like Peralez

I was searching for CP2077 terms like ICE and the blackwall so this video came in the results. I was surprised because upon playing the video I said to myself "Hey this is the diablo lore guy". I had to get used to listening you talk about CP2077 because you're one of the best in talking about the diablo lore.

Someone passed an interesting fan theory to me that the Blackwall doesn't exist (at least not anymore) and the AIs are already in the public system with a low profile, causing the cyberpsychosis events. The Blackwall the Netwatch has been watching is likely a decoy.

Funny thing, day by day our reality that we live in are coming closer to the reality of cyberpunk, corporate destroying the world for profit and starting wars to get resources that they aren't there's in the first place and AI and cyberwars are becoming to dangerous and uncontrollable the 1%s like mask and zagburg wants to be a God of our reality by defining who we are

I hope a New dlc or a New game explains everything and see again johny silverhand with v. But the dlcs and New games can be for sooooo many things that i Dont think that will happen. But i hope atleast we get to see v future as he finds a way to survive some how.

My question about all this is, if the blackwall is essentially a firewall keeping the bad stuff out, where is the badstuff? I mean, rogue AIs and such must exist on some kind of medium to do anything at all right? They aren't literally binary ghosts floating through the atmosphere, so where are they and why can't they simply be disconnected/destroyed? When malicious criminal server rooms are discovered, the solution is usually to go in physically and break all the stuff. No physical medium, no malware/viruses/AI.

What am i missing here? As the way it looks right now, it may as well be a lovecraftian alternate dimension by how people behave on the subject :P .

You know what is weird ? The black wall seems weirdly open to any ai for a jail. Alt seems to travel easily through it and doesn't mind going in. Delamains even call what's beyong it their home and go willingly throught it

Not the first or the last time game devs associate AIs with Lovecraftian deities, cue Mass Effect to which CP2077 very much seems to be the prequel to, what with the Illusive Man hanging around as Mr Blue Eyes...

DLC will def be about Blackwall and rogue AIs. Alt can now have fun with her Mikoshi AI souls.

Data exists on servers, the very existence of the blackwall means the data comprising those AIs has to exist on servers too. Just destroy those servers. :V
