Here with Benedictine University's Public Health Student Organization is Natasha Marshall, MPH. Natasha is a research associate at UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services with a concentration in Addictions in 2019 from Alabama State University. Immediately following she completed her Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion & Behavioral Science with a certificate in Health Disparities from UTHealth Houston in 2021. Along her graduate school journey, she began recording videos on YouTube to document the ups, downs, and details of gaining an MPH, from finances to courses to internships and beyond. Currently, Natasha works in the reproductive health space as a research associate with a campaign at UTHealth called "Own Every Piece" that emphasizes women owning every piece of their body, including birth control and reproduction. Her current research is a qualitative storytelling project that focuses on interviewing women to gain stories about personal experiences from adolescence to now surrounding all reproductive health topics. Natasha's greatest piece of public health advice is to do what makes you happy in the field, remain fluid, and prioritize community impact before compensation.
