There can't be 3500 calories in a pound of body fat because the maths doesn't add up, this is just one of those phrases that gets chucked around like the oh-so-stupid phrase "Muscle weighs more than fat" (But how MUCH muscle or fat are you talking about here?? A pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle dummy!!). 1 gram of fat equals 9 calories, therefore a pound of fat contains 4077 calories.

ОтветитьOvernight oats are delicious! I love peanut butter and raspberry oatmeal. Recipe I do:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- pinch of salt
Toppings:
- 1/4 cup toasted walnuts (toasted bc raw is bitter)
- 1/4-1/2 cup frozen raspberries
- 2-4 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds (makes for great crunch sprinkled on top)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (or honey, white sugar, just a sweetener)
- 1 or 1/2 of a banana (optional)
I mix up the oats, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt together and set it in the fridge overnight. Then, in the morning, I get a bowl and add my raspberries in there. I thaw them in the microwave for about a minute and a half. Then I add my peanut butter into the raspberries as it's easier to mix this way. Then I add some maple syrup, mix some more, add my oats, and mix that all together. Then add the toasted walnuts on top as well as the chia seeds and, optionally, a sliced banana.
It tastes like a fancy peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Ответитьtwo things he skipped is N.E.A.T. (just look it up) and that both carbs and protein do have 4 calories per gram but carbs take less energy for your body to digest. And protein takes more energy to digest. So your body literally consumes calories to absorb the calories, and it consumes more calories to absorb protein than carbs. So carbs are a bit more calorie dense.

I can make a different vegetarian meal every day for a year and still have thousands of meals left to try. This week: Cheese & Lentil Bake with Roasted Vegetables & Gravy, Sag Aloo with Fresh Onion Chutney and Mint Raitha; Linguini Napoli with Parmesan & Salad; Chilli con Veggy with Plain Yoghourt, Rice & Salad; Root Vegetable & Barley Stew with Stir-Fried Herby Courgettes; Cheesy Coleslaw and Salad Wraps; Stir-Fied Vegetables with Plum Sauce & Noodles; Baked Potato with Cheese and Garlic Beans; Spanish Chickpea and Potato Stew ... limited choices, my eye.

ОтветитьI think breakfast is the most important meal based on what you got planned for the day and or what job you do. If you work a physical job or plan to do an intense workout you should probably eat breakfast. If you job also requires focus you should eat breakfast

Ответитьoh yeah, i forgot to mention that plant based diets aren't actually as sustainable as people think due to how much we rely on livestock to feed us and the plants. especially since livestock can be raised on land where you can't grow crops and they can turn various plants which are inedible to us (like grass) into a good source of protein, fat and other nutrients.
all this falls more under the agriculture side of things, but i find it important to bring up how it's just as nuanced as nutrition
