I'm Brazillian, I'm from a religion called Umbanda. In my religion, we have an entity called Exu, and while I was listening to this, it basically felt like you were describing Exu.

A rebel, a truth teller, a merchant, a clown child, a golden child, a mischievous creature, a con artist, a jeckle and hide, a scientist, a hacker anyone and anything related to communication and trade. Mercury is a neutral planet, it associates with anyone and, depending where it sits in your chart, can get the flavor of the planet and the houses they rule. If your speech is sleek, pompous, youve got a sailor's mouth, you are trashy or come accross as brilliant but you're an absolute idiot in real life, thats because of the infinite combinations Mercury can be and create.....So, the Trickster archetype becomes so alluring, gets bad rap and its never Fooly understood because its air element, you know you can breathe, there is oxygen, but you can't see it. this shocks me. im sadly that kind but realized it too late. i always use people against people by creating something that doesnt exist and manipulating them. im nice and ppl talk to me like im their therapist so i use what they are telling me and form it in a way that reminds them of their problems but i hide it behind a lie that makes me seem like im the good one that tries to help. i dont have any morals and i lose touch to ppl and to whats good and bad day for day because i no longer control it. its like im getting controlled. i hope that my final trick will come soon

I feel like a modern representation of the trickster, if we maintain the snake oil salesman comparison, is the influencers/entrepreneurs. At least in the way they lie to themselves not only about the product they pedal/produce but the reason why they do it. I notice people are willing to tell themselves stories that allow them to take advantage of others for their own gain. But I guess this is focusing on the negative aspects of this archetype.

Now I'm really puzzled, I saw a lot of info telling how "the fool" is just the same as "the trickster", often both showing themselves as the jester or the force of change
