Every time I check on iTunes on my computer and click Check For Updates it tells me that iOS 7 (the current update on the phone) is the correct and latest one.

Ok I'll preface this by saying I'm fucking horrible w/ tech. Have an iPhone 6 that has iOS 8.1 still b/c I've never updated & I need an app now that requires a newer iOS. I don't have wifi at home so I'm trying to do this iTunes option & can't get it to work. Got my device synced & backed up fine, but when I clicked on update for iOS 8.1 earlier it told me I needed a newer version of iTunes. So I set that too download & came back a few hours later. Now with the new iTunes downloaded when I click on "update" for iOS 8.1 a message comes up saying "this version of iTunes (12.4.3) is the current version" the only option is to click ok & then it just takes me back to the summary. Every time I hit "update" it's the same message. does anyone know why this is, or what the hell I have to do to update my iOS using iTunes. When I got to the software updates w/in the settings on my phone & iOS 10 comes up it doesn't give an iTunes option. It says the phone has to have a wifi connection, but obviously all these videos say that wifi isn't necessary. So what am I doing wrong, please help!!
