What do you make of Alex’s new Pinarello F9? 🧐
ОтветитьNot really a good looking bike in my opinion😒
Ответить57.5 how tall r you Alex ? :D btw great bike
Ответить"I've got a new bike" - thanks to the number of sponsors this channel has gathered over the years I'd be surprised there isn't one new bike per video per member of GCN!
ОтветитьWhat was the trouble with original wheelset?
Ответитьtaglia della bici? 57,5?
Ответитьtrash bike for that price tag, just say it how it is you bunch of ass cheek gapers
ОтветитьHas someone checked if you had a fever Alex ? Why on earth would you even consider swapping some of, if not THE, very best balanced wheels on the market for some shady wavy golf ball shit from the one company that basically invented the concept of bogus aero marketing claims (while being quite shite at true quality control for such a price point) ?
ОтветитьEh? I would get the bike fit before getting the bike. Pinerello are great because they give you half sizes. L seems incredibly big
ОтветитьIf it's not available in the UK, you bought it in Italy? Did you declare it at Customs on the way back. I believe import duty is due on anything more than 135£/€ now we're not in the EU. I'm interested as I had considered buying an Orbea in Spain, getting it a bit dirty and bringing it back in my camper van! This would still apply if you bought online.
ОтветитьI have always been curious to know how the GCN presenter's bikes work. Obviously as long term riders they will have bikes from before their GCN career. They may have 'off topic' bikes like MTBs or cargo bikes that they buy themselves. But does a presenter buy from their own funds a new Pinarello? Is it a ' work' bike bought and owned by GCN? Do they get major discounts through being who/what they are? I dont really care, I wouldn't be upset if it turned out they are provided free for them to use or even keep - I'm just curious.
ОтветитьVery nice bike, I might eventually have one.
Ответитьit's new, but it's a downgrade
ОтветитьAwesome Setup & Thanks for sharing with us :)
ОтветитьMost pointless freehub sound check ever if you go for the zippy full time
ОтветитьNice, shoutout to Jake for precise performance. He did my second bike fit a couple of weeks ago, highly recommended!
ОтветитьNeeds a disc wheel.
ОтветитьWho loves a quiet free hub ❤
ОтветитьMan’s downgraded
ОтветитьRe: running mechanical on this frame "... somebody is going to do it..." and that somebody hates their mechanic. I've had the misfortune of installing a mechanical groupset on this frame before and hoooo boy did that knock a couple of years off my lifespan. If you're buying a fancy integrated bike, just go electronic. I promise it'll be better in every way- it'll even save you money in the long run.
ОтветитьTo be honest, with all the changes you made, you might as well have bought an entry level carbon bike. Would leave some more money in your pocket.
ОтветитьAbsolutely beautiful, congrats Alex! I though have a problem with the pricing of this kind of bikes. Reminds me little of Hifi where more expensive is always regarded as better sounding. I remember quite a lot of Tri competitions where the more I kept overtaking my fellow triathletes, the more expensive their bikes became. And when you then reach double the price of your own bike you realize: It is hardly the bike, it is much more about how much and how you're training, at least above a certain minimum. But I understand that having ten grand under your bottoms must feel great - and how much greater for the bloke just overtaking you on his budget bike. Or her budget bike. Keep up the good work anyway, love it!
ОтветитьI think these are just re-badged aliexpress frames, I've seen them on there quite a bit under a few different brand names
Ответить£9k, that ain’t a man in the street kind of bike, why bother endorsing a bike most of us would never consider buying….
ОтветитьNice bike but little bit ugly frame. 😮 Specialized build much more better frame.
ОтветитьWhat a strange looking bike. That top tube looks way too high on a design like that in larger sizes. The price is frankly ridiculous. One crash and I hope it's insured.
I hope you enjoy riding it though, looking forward to more excellent videos. Just don't mock it in 20 years the way people mock old innovations nowadays. Biopace was welcomed with open arms by journos once upon a time.
Personally it's not for me, I'd rather be a little slower and I enjoy riding an older Colnago or Bianchi with beautiful paint jobs, manual groupset, rim brakes and I carry the tools to fix almost anything that can happen out there. I have all the tools because I build up my bikes in the garage anyway, lace my wheels, glue my tubs. One BB tool to rule them all. I don't have shifter issues because there's no battery to go flat.
Any decent rider would probably beat me on their sister's supermarket bike but that happened to Sagan's rivals anyway.
I had my backside well and truly kicked by an up and coming Chris Boardman in a TT decades ago on my cutting edge bike so decided to stop having the latest and greatest kit and concentrate on my golf game too. 😁
I go to Italy, lake Garda every year and stay in Peschiera del la Garda to at Bella Italia. The glimpses of it make me want to take my bike next time. Looking forward to that episode!
ОтветитьI would assume a bike that size would come with 175 mm cranks. Why do you use 170 mm?
Ответитьgreat looking bike. . what's happened to the old one??
ОтветитьWll jell 😛what about some Hunt wheels?
Ответить12>9 rim brake bikes are faster, lighter and more aero... t900 is way worse than f12 carbon. Such a downgrade.
ОтветитьLet's see blade runners vs aero?
ОтветитьIts a nice bike but.. I have a titanium and its amazing
ОтветитьNice Pinarello ad 🙄
ОтветитьHi guys i would like to buy new bike and not sure which to choose. F12 Dogma or Ribble ultra slr? Please help Gcn
ОтветитьDisc is gae
ОтветитьZipp rims for sure
ОтветитьIt’s technically a down grade since it’s heavier than the Rim brake..
ОтветитьNice bike ❤
ОтветитьAwesome bike. Definitely think Alex should do the video of his bike fit to see if his set up has changed much from 4 years ago 👍
ОтветитьLovely looking bike looks fast. Both wheelset looks nice but which one is faster?. Looks wise I like the ZIpp
ОтветитьDear @Alex Paton, the question I would like to see sincerely answered is: would you buy this bike if you had to spend 11000 Euro of your very own money?
Ответить£9000 and you cant get the correct width bars... Gearing you prefer... Or Brake size you prefer... Sounds like the wrong bike choice.....but hay £Money£ is £Money£
ОтветитьI think the title of the video should be ‘Our Sponsors Took Back My Old Pinarello And Gave Me A New Pinarello’. A bit like getting excited over a rental car. I don’t think Alex forked out cash like us mere mortals have to.
ОтветитьOne quick note, racing bikes are not the same interms of materials used. They are not mass produced so the carbon used is only for racing. Good bike though
Ответитьat first look i wasn't to keen on the colour but it does suit the bike & it would grow on me for that reason.
i would keep the dur race wheel set on, just becuase of its name & performance of course,
i agree with your gear preference, as would be more advantageous,
cosmetically i would change to white bar tape & saddle.
Overall it's a magnificent machine,
Those dura ace wheels look soooo good. Stick with them.
ОтветитьCan you switch back?
ОтветитьI just bought a new bike after riding my previous bike for 17 years. Now I'm about to do something that I question if it is vain or a smart idea. I'm going to wrap it for protection. I know it is very common in the mtb community, but what are your thoughts on road bikes? Am I being vain?
Ответитьf9 for 10500 Bucks is even worse than the 105 Madone for 8500 Bucks. Getting low tiers spending this kind of money is just freaking insane to me. Hope there will be a turning point where these manufacturers finally have to stop this trend. The statement of the Pinarello boss said it all. We are very well established in the 12500 range but not in the 8000 range. Well one way to make your markups sound less greedy
