How-To: Edit 4K video on the 12" MacBook with Final Cut Pro X

All I Need to know is .... if Final Cut Pro x will work on a 2012 MacBook Pro 13 inc ?????

I did big 4k 24 fps projects on my MacBook pro late 2013 like this, proxy is a must

Even my 2015 15" 2.8ghz / 16GB ram / 512 SSD doesn't handle FCPX. What is this sorcery.. and I'm ALWAYS using proxies.. Even did a full reset to computer and still..

Can the same be done with Premiere? If so can someone suggest a video? I'm amazed how well FCP runs on that little macbook, Premiere is brought to its knees on my i7 13" MBP

Great tutorial 9to5 Mac! I'm not 100% convinced the Macbook is the good choice for video editing. It's definitely more capable than some mobile devices. Keep up the great work!

yeah proxy on 4K raw media. It takes a lot of storage space & high processing power when encoding/creating proxy. It is strongly recommended to use external RAID Thunderbolt storage for 4K workflow. So the application can use more bandwidth on the internal drive, uninterruptible.

Even high end vfx/editing with dual xeon using FC RAID Array for 4K workflow & Proxies

Is this meant for if you're trying to render 4k in a pinch that you can do it on a macbook or does doing it this way actually save time vs editing it without using proxy media on a macbook?
