2022 IRS TAX REFUND UPDATE - Refunds Approved, Delays, Cancelled Tax Refunds, Amended Return Update

I've been calling the irs for the past 2 weeks right t 7 am when it sys it opens and it's given me the automatic machine saying the kine is busy for me to try again next business day I even had representative transfer me to the amended return department and still says the same thing .y amended return has already reached the max of over 20 weeks and still says fore to call the number and oress extension a d nothing

They told me that we c I understand file electronically for amended returns but those returns don't come direct deposit those are automatically paper return

My is saying take action what is that means

still have not received my amend return. filed march 15,2022. keep getting the run around. no letters or nothing. IRS keep saying they short staff and call back each month. I know three ppl who filed there amend taxes return after me and got there's. im erked

Paper filed early May still haven’t received any notice or refund

Funny how the IRS has updates on stimulus money and how to qualify for it or SSI benefits but never anything about why it's taking so long for us to receive our refunds. I'm sick of this. Straight foolishness. This crap is getting old. I filed Feb.14. Seven months later still nothing.

I e-filed back in mid February and still have no refund.

I filed by paper in mail on the deadline day, April 19 or something? June? I forget. Received my full refund on Sept. 2nd direct deposit

I am still waiting on my federal taxes and no update on my audited return I sent all the paperwork to prove my kids (with my last name) live with me, even claimed them the last 2 years no issues. Federal was accepted 1/25 and last letter I received was 8/15 saying to wait until 9/25 and if nothing by then they'll send a letter of when to expect a response. Received my state return back in February. My income and dependents have been the same past few years yet I was audited.

How Do I Know If & Or When I Will Get A Paper Check?

Sent mine in electronically and it was received April 4th
Since the 2 weeks after that all I get is that my tax refund had been delayed and thats it.

Still waiting no update, paper filed in Feb.

I efiled an amended return on February 15 and still nothing almost seven months

Filed in February, and I'm just now getting a 424 code examination request , on my transcript. Any help on what that means would be appreciated .

Just wanted to let everyone know that I mailed paper from NY to Kansas last March 21..in Aug it said received and today September 7th it says approved and to be mailed by September 14th...including intrest and stimulus for 2020.

Filed Feb 19 through CashApp, have received 2 of the 60-day letters for "still verifying" my return, whatever that means, and a 3rd letter still saying 60 more days due to backlog. Will be 7 months coming up on Sept 19. This is beyond ridiculous and I am in dire need of the money I'm owed. So frustrating. I very much appreciate these updates.

@UIVlogs2021 Do you know about tax code 766? When I look on Where's my refund my refund went down $4,477. When I log into the transcript it shows an issued refund of $1,401 (846) 9-8-22 but then above it it shows code 766 on 4-15 of -$4,500 but with no Refund issued 846 for that amount???

Still waiting on my 2020 refund. No work done on my return since may 31, 2021.

How can i get in hold of the irs

I can’t call the IRS NOR the Tax Payer Advocate. I’m placed on long holds. I guess I can just stop counting on it.

My amended tax return was received on May 17 whenever I have checked my amended return status the progress bar has been there. This morning I checked and the bar is gone. I have a number to cal with an ext but it’s just an automated line. Anyone knows that this means? Oct 4 will be the 20 week amended tax return period they are asking us to allow.

I had transcript code 810 Refund Freeze as of 8/24/22...I called yesterday and after an hr and a half being on hold I was told my refund was pulled for review and to give up to 120 days...but what I forgot to ask was 120 from WHAT DATE??? If my refund was frozen 8/24 then they should have began reviewing my return THAT day....I havent even gotten any notices in the mail yet...

Mine still says processing, file back in April through E-file never got a letter I do have that 152 code when I put my information would you know the tax advocate number for IL?

My 2020 amended return was received Feb 7th. Still waiting to be processed. So much for 20 weeks!

I give up! Last week, after arguing with Tax Advocate rep on phone to get an appt with local IRS office Iveas able to go in and discuss problems with IRS agent, WHO TOLD ME TO REFILE VIA EFILE. She confirmed my AGI . Went home tried to refile electronically REFUSED. Called US Senator Blackburn office explained issues. Today I received an email advising Tax Advocate had no record of receiving my 2021 tax forms. THEY WERE MAILED FEBRUARY 22, 2022. Considering the screwed up state of the postal service I should have certified the filing. Shame on me. Then again 6 1/2months later I should have received via return post my original return. Hasn't happened. Furious does not even described my anger. What have I learned? IRS tax filing electronic programs have a number of glitches in the FREETAXUSA. This was the program IRS adopted after Turbo Tax contract was not renewed. IDME was also a program the federal government contracted for security of access to government accounts. It was rolled out Nov 2021 and due to assessibility with the public was pulled reworked to remove issues and released again July 2022 as MyID again another "secured id verification" program that has additional problems espvwith video chat verification. Multiple conversations with IRS reps and Tax Advocate reps have proven these individuals are poorly trained to handle taxpayer inquiries and give conflicting information. Same goes with new hires that were hired enmasse' to handle IRS calls. Totally disgusted with IRS for creating this mess. FY 2020 filing was completed with TurboTax free electronic filing and return received within a week to bank. Pandemic was at peak during this time frame and tax forms were processed without this nonsense. I am skeptical about FY2021 1040 ever being processed.

Does anyone know if your tax refund is going on your cash app card and it's in pending status, however the date of deposit is September 08th does that mean it will be on my card on the 08th. It's been pending since last Friday. Cash app stated in takes 1 to 5 business days for it to credit to the account.

Filed feb 2 still getting processing beyond normal timeframe

Going into my 7th month still no refund. 😡😡😡Filed electronically in February it keeps telling me it’s been received and it’s being processed unfricken believable & totally unacceptable. Feeling so powerless !

The IRS was reaching out to me by mail and sending something back. How ever what they sent me was NOT my information. They sent me someone else's info including ALL personal information. Which also means ALL of my information was sent to someone else. I sent everything back to them and have yet to hear from them. Shameful!

E-Filed on March 18th, for the longest time I was getting an error, finally sometime first week of August it finally went to WE ARE PROCESSING YOUR RETURN. Then I received a letter from IRS on August 31st requesting I fill out the declaration for my signature, I have always E-FILED my returns and cannot submit return without electronic signature, I don’t know why my return for 2021 has been such a hassle 😐

I've filled on due date 4/18/22 trough h&r block.. received state refund within 2 weeks but I'm still waiting for federal return.. it's been almost 5 months and nothing.. every time I go and check through the website on where's my refund it's gives me a message saying that it's taking an unusual amount of time for my refund and to check back.. if I would have known this was going to take a long time I would have done my taxes through paper mail which is much cheaper. I'll probably do that next year so I don't waste a lot of money on having my taxes prepared.

Tax refund got sent & then cancelled I filled in July it got cancelled on august 14th but on my transcript it says august 22nd and my bank said they never got it and all my info is correct you just said 30-60 days u hope that’s true because I’m almost 30days in now

I e-filed back at the end of February, it's now the end of Sept. It keeps showing they have received it, but still processing. I saw something on a new channel, that it could be till Nov or Dec till some of us receive our taxes, is this correct?

I got an 846 code for 9/12 should I have gotten it by now could it have went out on the 30th

Filed an amended return to recoup taxes withheld for non-taxable lump sum military disability severance pay. Bar indicates received April 25. No action.

I finally got an 846 code on my amended return and it’s dated for the 8th, does that mean it will be a direct deposit?
