No disrespect intended, but I believe all these "mysteries" are simply the younger generations with too much time on their hands that are trying to see and decipher things that are not there. All of these are easily explainable. For example, Mario 64 was a launch title that was the first 3d venture for Mario so it wasn't as deep as subsequent titles with populations in the world's. It was never ever considered weird or scary to anyone in my generation, that being the one that started gaming hardcore on the NES and had already dabbled with the Atari 2600. It's simply internet culture that always has to focus their attention trying to find the negative meaning in games and the world itself.

There is an odd number in mario odyssey in the metro kingdom. When you use the gold filter in snapshot mode to look at taxi car numbers, the number is the same as the other filters, but if you use the gold filter to look at the underground siege level's taxi numbers, the numbers change only for the gold filter
