SimRail is a partnership between PlayWay - makers of games like House Flipper and Car Mechanic sim to name just a couple, and SimKol - a company that manufactures sims and training software for the railway industry. Their simulation expertise should be quite good. Just a matter of making the product "consumer" friendly, adding that eye candy that we expect these days (no sure how great that will be using Unity) and then seeing how easily that expertise translates to delivering routes for other parts of the world. Also don't be surprised to see VR support down the line - pun intended. Anyway, does look promising.
ОтветитьNice review! Do you know if it will support the RailDriver hardware?

ОтветитьTrain sim 2 is better imo
ОтветитьI would love to have a train simulator, provided it supports VR and I can ride as a passenger.
ОтветитьSir...can you please help it to make more user-friendly game? So that older system users like me can also play it....it needs an anti lagging system
ОтветитьIm with John on that one, maybe DTG will get the message that they aren't the only ones who can produce a Train sim, that actually works the first time and with more dedication to their player community .
Ответитьwhy? why why why why are steam trains always 'coming soon' or 'someday'?
Ответитьwith the state TSW2 is in any competition is welcome it will take take time to compete on a level footing and hopefully a new sim will avoid many legacy issues TSW is full of
ОтветитьThank you it looks promising the more competition the better. After flying in MSFS 2020 we need Microsoft to resurrect the train sim 😀
ОтветитьExcept abysmal optimisation and lack of any AA I like where this is goin, any competitor to DTG is welcome! Also nice to see train sim based somewhere else than Germany or UK ;)
btw this sim is made with a ppl who makes professional training apps for Polish railways so I except nothing else than a proper sim!
This looks like it shows promise with realistic looking graphics and nice train sounds. Like you say though looks like it will need some work.
ОтветитьYou reviews are good and truthful, for me being an ex train driver back in the 80/90s and now a P/T streamer who has a community of rail enthusiasts the problem with new train games is the licence for names, colours etc.
What I mean by that is when I talk or show my community new games the first thing they ask is can you drive this train or that train and when I say not on this or you can but it's not full licenced they are not interested, if DTG do own the full licence of all I do not think many new train games can compete with DTG only because people want real not made up
It would be like having Fifa with made up team names and players, this is my thoughts and has some truth as I have seen this on my streams with games and saw the numbers of people who will not play or buy or even give it a go on most stuff that's not licenced if they are big fans of things sadly.
I can remember when you could download demo versions of finished games, try before you buy.
ОтветитьDTG must be shitting themselves right now. At least they might have some competition now.
ОтветитьI think it's good thinking it's an indie studio, let's see if they really deliver with multiplayer and SDK
ОтветитьAny competition against DTG is welcome in my book, early days but there is promise here. Great review 👍
ОтветитьOptimisation is at basic level. Antialiasing don’t exist It’s hard to play when all scenery, particullary conductor rails flickering… But at the start is a good point. This demo is not to thrill but to get one’s bearigs when all this work should go. IMHO so far so good (but not so far from the scratch). ;)
ОтветитьI really hate dovetail games for making their updates include the dlc's too, and some of the dlc's you will never purchase, but it will still install the 5 GB for that and another 3 or 4 for another dlc. This is a trend I see happening in lots of games and I don't like it one bit. Okay it helps giving you the option to buy the dlc and instantly play it but eventually we run out of diskspace and then we need to choose whether to keep certain games on disk or reinstall them at a later time which will take hours (because of compression and the fact it will unpack and install during download the disk bandwith goes up very high leaving the download speeds at let's say 15 kb/s which is soooooooooooooooo bad if you got gigabit internet.)
ОтветитьDoes the demo have a Motion Blur setting to turn off? I can't watch it, let alone play with it I imagine
