That's great up selling people on hourly rates, then they think they can determine how long it takes and what they are gonna pay you. Give them the total cost to your professional ability a qoute for instance or flat rate price and you never hear from them again. Ive been doing this for 10yrs and im not willing to work a job in good faith and hope the customer pay me at the end if the job. Im not dealing with that or taking no loses. A minimum such as a 2, 3 or 4 hour minimum on a 8, 10, or 12 hour job is irrelevant if the customer dont know or anticipate or even willing to pay the total cost of a job then you really aint gonna get your money when you get done with a moving job. We email every customer a flat rate price or we put them on a minimum and give them a price after so many hours we charge hourly. Majority of people dont and want pay and are looking for cheapest possible. They dont care nothing about you or your company, all they care about is how much. A few people are not like that but the majority of people are so why in the hell would i move them in good faith or do just hourly and never tell them the total cost? People are okay paying a 4 hour minimum on a 12 hour moving job but not okay paying for the 12 hours move ots gonna take to mive them. Im not do business with people like that and thats how alot of people are. They on that hokie dokie but im not. Moving is a hell of a business i can tell you that. We have had a 2, 3 and 4 hour minimum plus gas fee.
