It's crazy to think that so many people who play WoW are adults, when thhey act like little kids. Sure some of teens so their behaviour is understandable, but still annoying. This is why I often play alone, or with people I know.

I disagree with the idea that a lot of GMs were abusive raid leaders. I think a lot of them were just fed up with how stupid some guild mates were because the boss fights were actually pretty easy mostly.

Now again, I've never played vanilla, but I've seen some pretty dogwater people in classic and raid finder in retail. Not saying all GMs were perfect angels, but it's bad to also lump them all in as abusive people.

Some people want to see their time and effort rewarded instead of being constantly held back by people who just want to be carried. That's all I'm saying.

Lol, i was the only hunter back in MC, that was not at least partially clicking but actually using multiple Bars and switch by keyboard between them. Also, a lot of hunters failed at the 4 demons (which you partly had to kite around in a specific distance to not despawn them) and they had massive problems with Razorgore. So yes, people were fucking bad then, compared to what Blizz began throwing at you in Ulduar (Mimiron Hardmode and Yogg +1/+0), but it really picked up the pace in Cata, were especially Heroic Mode started to get dicey and overlaying mechanics got more and more complicated to deal with, and even some Normalmode bosses like Nefarian or Throne of 4 Winds required lots of coordination with minimal potential for personal failure. Also dont think that Cata was that bad for Guilds. The problem was, that lots of people playing since Launch now to to an age, that other stuff took over priority, like jobs, family and stuff. When we started with Classic 2005, most of us were around 12-16. WOTLK is some exepction, cause everybody knew it from WC3 and everybody wanted to kill the Lichking. Now Cata was released end of 2010, and most people just did not have the time to put into the game with school being done. Studies and jobs took more time, people begin getting children etc.

asmon... it's a gear check fight. Purely out of principle it's hard for you to understand today why people struggled with it then. We are juiced to the gills compared to the ppl taking it on back then.

Yup, and guilds were a dime a dozen, so these sad little control freaks did nothing but kill their own raid teams and guilds by throwing temper tantrums. The best guilds I've ever been in were the ones run by stoners just wanting to play the game and get high and those would be the guilds we would push hard modes on. Meanwhile the tryhard guilds are having a stroke because Danny the Hunters parse was two points lower this pull than it was last pull and that's somehow why the entire evening is ruined.

Razorgore back in the day was a major diversion from the normal tank and spank that almost ALL of MC was, so when you enter this new raid, you expect to just have to tank and spank Razorgore and BOOM, Nope.

There are ways to communicate without being demeaning. It’s a game not a job.

Blizzard not adressing issues and not listening to players is also a cause, just look at player base peaks and loss with every expansion.
If i cant play every class max in a fun way but instead one main to keep up and get Locked every time, it not only hurts the player but also the server that is looking and waiting for certain players or clases
or you have these meta clases every expansion that dominate Raids and pvp, and not every class having a buff / decent role or combo in raising or pvp you will just get bored and dont feel like leveling.
By the time you have a second char ready they refuse you because of not having achievements or item levels.

On Balnazzar EU there was this guild called Above and Beyond. They were second and third on the server and existed since ending of vanila/ begining of TBC.
In WotLK heir leader Jupiter just took Mimiron'shead and disbanded the guild. Biggest drama that Dalaran witnessed since Arthas killed Antonidas in WC3. 🤣

Yeah, the raids being harder didn't matter, a lot of us didn't even make it to level cap for cata because we hated what they did to the classes.

I played WoW for like 5 minutes. I have never raided, but I watched my buddy do it for countless hours as the game consumed him around 2006-2007 and I am sure of one thing. I would want to be in the no fucking around raid. If you aren't here to help us win then get the fuck out. If you can't heal the Tank when we need it then it's fuck you and everything you love we will have a new healer before you log out in shame. I could never invest that much time and energy into something just to watch the same person turn it into a complete waste every night.

I didn't know Attunement trash could respawn until I watched a friend on TBC Classic and noticed how the people had issue killing Attunement...
I remember once been so mad ad someone, that I called out every mechanic and Hard mode in Wrath... I made a very angry paint drawing explaining the tactic, so even a gold fish could understand.

I destroyed a vanilla classic raid. I had 4 char, 2 in raid guilds. My tanks guild raided the day after my healers. In nax on the first spider pull, the tanks guild raid leader got angry cuz I tried to warn the raid about what to do. He wanted the “glory” of leading. Well we wipe, and I call him a fuckin retard. As we get to first boss, he keeps arguing about every little thing. I call him a cringe streamer who don’t know shit. I quit a week later. 9 others quit that night. 12 more right after. And then the guy disbands the guild and leaves server. Don’t take no shit from morons

My guild kicked about half our raid team from the guild on archimonde in TBC, we pillaged top raiders from other guile’s to fill back up. Can’t have idiots in high level content, we finished sunwell top 100 though so it was all good

i think a fun raid boss would be a copy paste of your group into NPC format/ like your team has to face a bunch of NPCs that copy your team with all its abilities and health and you have to beat them as a group. were talking everything down to the stats of your armor.

I rememeber my 10 man guild merged with a 25 man so we had two teams playing in one guild. The 25 man would mock us for having less progressing then them. When my team later on broke up the remaining players including myself were offered a spot in thier team.
But then later on our pala tank sudenly were told he could not join casue the dps officer suddenly wanted to main tank so guildmaster had lieing him right in his face for 2 weeks about how he was 100% in for a tank spot and then guildmaster's boyfriend get it insteed lol.

In the end I was kicked from the team too cause I was not good enough in thier toxic eyes. Meanwhile Guildmaster were allowed to play like a dumbass every week and still had her spot every week just because officer is her boyfriend. So next day I just got a ingame mail about I was kicked from the team and demoted to member insteed. I knew I would get kicked so it was just a matter of time before it happend. The healer officer was even threateing me to get me kicked from the team if I did not start stepping up my healing even tho I was doing fairly well with me being 3-4 place on healing out of 6 healers.

And when it came to loot if someone got a normal mode item he was still allowed to role for hc mode item and ofc he got it cause the guild was giving loot away to all thier friends. If someone gets a normal mode item he should not be able to get the same item again. Someone els could have had that items insteed of him getting twice the loot and he will disenchant the normal mode one for the hc one.

Also why I quit WoW. I dont want to waste time with trash guilds who distribute loot to the same guy twice so someone who need it never get anything. I dont want to waste time with toxic officers and entilted guildmasters. I had my fun in this game but this ended back in Warlord x-pack when I got team kicked from that drama guild that has a cunt of a guildmaster/officer running the show.

I was watching a raid by the ww1 guild in EQ2 waaaay back in the day. When they wiped, the guild leader just sighed and was like,

"Raise up. Do it again."

Wipe

"Again."

Win.

"Nice work."

Guild was filled with the best, most competitive players. You didn't need to yell. I am sure he kicked people after raid or during if they weren't working it, but yah... It was pro.

The guild I was in that bounced around between 4th and 10th WW.... GL would scream his head off even at the slightest screw up. But then we were partially filled with clowns who got carried and he had no fuse... I do think he was emotionally stunted as well, but yah... no fuse at all.

Always had bad luck with guilds. Every single self-proclaimed casual guild i tried, broke due to chat drama, raid rage, loot drama due to master loot abuse or DKP drama, in a matter of months. Now i'm too old for this shit. I like raiding and i've been raid leader and guild offy many times, but i prefer doing some random BGs and collectibles farm by myself rather than find another toxic ass guild and prepare for raiding.

If they reworked wow and made every raid 10 man max it would fix all the problems.

I miss being in a guild of ex-military guys. Shame our guild lead's woman was constantly upset we weren't doing exactly what she wanted and instead we were compromising on what EVERYBODY wanted / if it was something you actually need the whole group for, like the Alliance Slayer title, we'd make a concerted effort. ... I still remember her getting mad and screaming like a psycho at me because I got the title first without really trying while her, her husband, our second co-gm and the poor 19 year old girl that was our resto druid all were struggling and I was 3v1'ing... and she screamed at me that I was " Stealing their kills. Stop doing that and let them come over there and kill the Alliance on me. " - I was being jumped by three or four people every time I tried to disengage... and they all knew this. So, I'm fighting a running battle and by the end have killed 27 Alliance... solo... as a retadin... and instead of my guild being all " Wow, glad you're with us, a small guild that gives you literally no credit for being out only good PvPer. " - I get screamed at by the GM's wife because she wanted to be the first one to get the achievement of killing twenty Alliance, then surviving for twenty minutes for the title.

Damn this video aged like milk. Watching Asmongold defend the worst, most abusive, disgustingly toxic WoW behaviors as something he looks back fondly on and now he's out of the game talking about how the only people left in WoW are disgusting, toxic players and the community is shit.

He lost me at Cata. 4.0-4.2 Cata was awesome. 4.3 Fire Nova changes were also awesome.

I raided because I did nothing more than prove my merit. I went through attunement quests, tank for B team, be the side-tank for A team... I was at the bottom of the totem pole and grinded up that ladder for the guild until I showed how I could hold my ground as the main tank. That sort of things gives you a lot of pride.

Bro Sunwell was even hard for a raid full of level 80's in WOTLK. Most fucked up on Felmyst.
