I think Chiaki in the Neo world being so “flawless” and a “Mary Sue” actually elevate her character given that she is the only one who isn’t real. It never bothered me. If anything it made me like her more since I didn’t have a strong opinion on her before that reveal.

Honestly I can see where you're coming from with this. Chiaki is one of my least favorites, and I still think she's overrated. Mainly because she's basically Sayaka but without any personality + she was dragged into the mess of a trial and it just didn't feel as strong + she was around for 5 whole chapters. But I will admit, I get why you like her. Also, I will admit, I got attached to Dr3 Chiaki

AI Chiaki has another flaw you forgot to mention: Her drawing skills.

Being able to watch your analysis vids is always such a treat. Imagine if Chiaki had actually encouraged Hajime to join the Izuru Kamakura project out of misplaced optimism, and a desire to make him happy. But when she realizes her mistake it's already too late.

Danganronpa 2 is her way to make amends, own up to her mistakes, and bring Hajime back.

I wanted to point out a little trivia: I’m pretty sure Chiaki’s name is based of Chihiro’s, with the first three letters of Chihiro’s first name making up the first three letters of Chiaki’s, and the last three letters of Fujisaki making up the last three letters of Chiaki’s name

I think the next character analysis should be on Sakura! She’s one of Weeby’s favorite characters and I feel there’s some things about Sakura that might make opinions on her different

To be kinda fair to the series. Regarding your comment that we don’t see them bond with Chiaki. We do. It’s in the end credits lol at least I’m assuming that’s where the art is portraying

This was a great video! Instead of just simplifying her as a perfect being that is supposed to be perfect you went all out and even found interesting connections between the two versions of her!

I don't get why people throw around the term Mary Sue so much and they always only apply one of the attributes of a Mary Sue to prove their point (in this case the being "perfect" or without flaws attribute which could also be applied to many hero characters who don't falter in their morals). Mary Sues are actually not very common unless we're talking about self insert fanfiction which is where the term originated from (it originated from an old Star Trek self insert fanfic, anyone throwing around the term with no rhyme or reason should go read that to see what an actual Mary Sue feels like)

I theory a have about Chiaki, it’s that when she stayed outside the party it’s because they programmed her in a way that would protect them. So they did that to keep Monokuma out of the party.

interesting that the only characters that are considered Mary sues are women. OP characters like OPM and Mob are not considered Mary sues. Only women can be considered OP to the point of being "annoying", but male characters can't be.
