It genuinely upsets me that Jake Johnson is a part of this show. He went from one of the funniest and most lovable sitcom characters to... unnecessary vulgar jokes and swearing = funny? How the hell did anyone get him to agree to this?

Even a plot as ridiculous as Beavis and Butthead do better than Hoops, despite having two teenage knuckleheads who probably get into worst trouble than the kids in this show and still maintain a TV-14 rating!

The "I got my mom's dick" joke could have been funny if it wasn't saturated by the sheer amount of dick jokes in just a single episode.

This would be funny to a 7th grader that hasn't seen any "adult animation" shows

"He pointed out the thing that the writers made happen" THANK YOU JAY. It is the most obnoxious thing, seeing jokes / 'mic drop' moments at something that's happened in the script. They're completely unearned and they're so grating.

I think when they were writing the coach they just looked at GTA V Michael and said "Yeah, we could do that! Just like that!" without any shred of awareness of how to write that type of character beyond "He says fuck a lot"

But they actually mastered those tropes they rode to death.

The bit where penny suddenly knocks from the other side and sheldon just looks around all flabberghasted KILLS me in the context of the show, even though i don't like it very much. It's fresh payoff and expectation subversion for a stale running gag. It's just a very good, very simple scene in a mediocore show.

Howards mom is another one. Yeah the fat screaming disgusting authority figure you never see has been done to death_, but they actually looked at it from a creative standpoint and pulled everything from it that it had to give. Yes it is a very low common denominator of humor (Haha, she is fat and loud and jewish and they have a horrible co-dependent relationship, please laugh), but they actually _made something from that.

Those netflix 'comedies' do none of that.

That's the difference between good writing for a bad show and just bad writing for a show.

Why would a person watch a series like this? Protagonist is bad story is bad jokes are bad...
