That video was very helpful. I'll need to watch it a few more times and experiment until I feel really confident about what I'm doing. Thank you for this. I could have been struggling for a million years on my own!

Can't wait to try this. I have been getting a little discouraged lately because I see a lot of other photographers that are posting SUPER sharp photos and I'm just not really sure how they are doing it. But, I can tell it was an editing thing not necessarily a sharp raw photo. I'm gonna give this a try!

Yea, You are very good at Photoshop, but I never feel comfortable to see a guy with a hat inside a room. Is he sick? Is he tired? Does he have hair problems? Is so cold inside that room?

Good refresher for me. Question - at what point do you do noise reduction - before or after sharpening? I some times see that the noise I thought I removed "comes back" after sharpening

When I was first starting, I sharpened the heck out of everything. I didn't understand that this is one of the most powerful effects in PS. Fortunately, I had people I trusted explain it to me--but how I wish I would have had a tutorial like this! And for those just beginning...all the sharpening in the world won't make an out of focus photo in focus :)

Thanks Colin, very informative and a memory jogger! What is your view on using "Shake Reduction" on photos? I know it is not sharpening as such but it appears to improve the clarity of the image. Thanks in advance.
