Thanks a lot! I have been wondering this myself.
Ответитьto get better at fusion.... keep messing up.. trust me..it works
ОтветитьI learn Fusion best by quitting and loading up After Effects for the 11 millionth time.
ОтветитьYup.... Good one
ОтветитьCreating small test projects or 'studies' was my second step in learning Fusion. My first step was to binge a ton of Fusion tutorials from various instructors because everyone explains things differently and provides different workflows. This helped give me a broad overview of Fusion before diving into it and beating my head on the wall trying to figure everything out from scratch.
ОтветитьHow ro adjust exposure correctly for blender EXR files?
ОтветитьThanks for that
ОтветитьAnother GREAT lesson Casey, You Rock!
Ответить++
ОтветитьYou're 100% right but it surely doesn't help to have an old laptop like me where everything in Fusion is slow and takes hours to load properly :-/
ОтветитьI've found two ways to go back when you screw it up so bad you don't know how to fix it. 1ST EDIT>History>open history window. From there you keep going back till the problem disappears. 2nd Open the Project manager (Little House lower right corner) Right click on the current project you've got messed up and left click on Project backups. Now pick a project backup you figure (By date & Time) that is before you messed up in fusion, and load that back up and continue on. OR the best way is NO 3 do like Casey Says "GET BETTER AT FUSION".
Knowing that you can go back to a point just, before you messed things up, should give you the confidence to try FUSION or just about anything else in Davinci. Have an AWESOME day.
I don't have a cat. Do you know the best place to download one, and also are there any good cracks that work for a cat?
ОтветитьSo here’s my problem with Fusion: I completely agree with this method, you have to go in and mess with stuff. How I typically go into it is I know what I want to do but I don’t know which nodes to use to do what I want. That’s the paradox! There are so many nodes that do so many things, and the NAMES of them are not helpful/descriptive enough to be useful. Most times I’m thumbing through the user guide to trying to find what I need…definitely not the best use of time.
How about a guide/cheat-sheet of all the nodes, what they do on a basic (PLAIN English) level…similar to your scopes guide.
I tried doing it myself but I’m just not knowledgeable enough to do it.
This is something I think would definitely be profitable for you and your company since I’m sure 90% of your questions revolve around fusion.
Think about it.
Thank you! Your videos always help me with Davinci Resolve!
ОтветитьJust search your tips for what you need at the time. Done ✅
ОтветитьHow do I get it from the fusion page to my Edit Page..? still very confused by Fusion.
ОтветитьI remember when I was using AE and watching Andrew Kraemer. The mistake was trying to follow the STEPS. The best thing to do is to learn the CONCEPTS behind something. Once you figure out how something works (or why it doesn't) you'll be much faster at it. I struggled with the node workflow instead of comps and layers. Now that I have it figured out in Fusion I am better and faster in Fusion AND other node based programs. Screw up until it "clicks".
ОтветитьVery cool. :-)
ОтветитьHuh, I kinda just do this as part of projects, doing highlights of streams as video's I tend to pick one or two clips every now and again and just try somethin weird with them
Ответить"I can't get back to the way it was before" I've had that complaint many times. I'm slowly learning the little tricks. :-)
ОтветитьPlace a "L" in earn and thats just what it takes. How can you earn if you don't learn 🤗
ОтветитьIn PaintNet I've found so many techniques and processes just by playing around with what each effect does.
I don't think I've applied that approach in the same way with anything else.
Or at least it seems like it. Editing a single image is less time than editing a 5 part let's play i guess.
So I do find myself doing random projects all the time in resolve.
It started with transferring what I knew from Premiere to Resolve with let's plays.
Then I learned a few effects Resolve has that I can apply to LPs.
Then I started making short random stuff and video essays. Recently started making motion comics and even got commissioned for one the other week.
Resolve didn't ask me for money just my time, and that investment has officially started paying back financially and it's still a lot of fun and nothing is as satisfying then when I'm trying something new with an edit and it turns out looking really good.
Wow I didn't expect to ramble so much.
Do small whacky short narrative pieces. 30 seconds stories. It will teach you fusion.
ОтветитьHype for Davinci Resolve!
Sorry, I just love it. :)
Possibly the best advice about learning editing software ever. Thank you.
ОтветитьWell said.
ОтветитьHey Casey I have been trying to learn how to use this program and ive watched alot of your videos so far. I just have been trying to learn how to track words and things like that. in davinci resolve when i have all the nodes set up correctly my wording goes away any help?
ОтветитьI am watching your videos just for the outros haha thanks for great content !
ОтветитьGood advise, I think you could have emphasized that just DOING things (with any program really) activates your muscle memory, you actually store information in your body.
ОтветитьThanks, Casey.
ОтветитьGreat advice! I would sometimes create a second timeline in my project to try out different concepts before applying to my main timeline. But what helped me the most with Fusion and DR recently was upgrading my computer. My 2016 Dell XPS would constantly crash or be painfully slow to the point of being unusable.
ОтветитьSir...Great Tuts... what make and model mic are you using..
Ответитьhow does one Rotate a video in resolve
ОтветитьHi Casey, could you explain (or even make a vid) nuke / fusion comparison? I own a small editing studio, nowadays I need to get inhouse vfx artist and also get some trainee to learn compositing program. we use premiere for editing, I know davinci can edit but my editors are used to use premiere and it's really hard to switch. we use resolve for color grading. I don't want to use AE, not sure why but I know I want to get everyone learn how to use node system instead of linear system. so it is nukeX or fusion. what are the differences except the money I've to pay :D
ОтветитьStudies, 100%. Have a super simple, short goal and try to achieve it.
ОтветитьYeah! I call them my "play" videos and I have a BUNCH of them. If I am curious about how to do something, I start a "play" video project and discover it. I made my finger into a ray gun (for fun) in one.😃
ОтветитьHey thanks for your videos it helps me a loot to learn davinci. a few days ago i got the problem that when i go into fusion the sound of my clip is not loaded into Fusion, so i have the visual input but no audio. How do i fix this?
ОтветитьHi Casey can you show how to stance a vehicle like they do in photoshop brother?
ОтветитьExcellent advice! Thank you!
ОтветитьAfter Effect is the best in motion graphic animation in the industry .. but fusion is getting close to match it.
ОтветитьThat was so simple yet incredibly useful. Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьThank You!
ОтветитьCasey, Love your videos. This is the most helpful advice I have seen. Many thanks and keep up the great work.
ОтветитьYou are such a brilliant teacher 😃👍
ОтветитьCasey,
Many instructors with Editing software are hard to follow because the instructor blazes through steps and often skip steps, because they seemed bored with having to explain what they are so good at.
I find that many people who SLOW down, so you can actually follow the mouse arrow or if they SAY every step they are doing as opposed to wizzing around, really helps.
Straight editing is easy to get into with DaVinci, but the node-scape is very complicated, but I hope I can get a hold of it over time.
I really appreciate your fun instruction - keep it up.
i cant believe how good your videos are. So many people needed this video
ОтветитьHey, I am trying to create waste water treatment process using using 2D/3D fusion shape nodes. I noticed that fusion is good for visual effects and it's not possible to create scientific flow diagram in Fusion. Your opinion please ??
ОтветитьIm in that experimental stage. I discovered how many settings do absolutely nothing until I accidentally do something to make something happen. 😁
