If you replace everything on the speaker with generic material except the steel and magnet, is it still Bose?

if you take a look at these Bose speakers, you can see what overpriced junk they actually are. No insulation in the interior, the speaker basket is the thinnest tin can, the crossover doesn't deserve the name crossover at all. a simple condenser between low and high frequencies. The whole thing is a joke and Bose demands a hell of a lot of money for it. Money for literally nothing. Nothing against your work and restoration. That was solid craftsmanship.

OK first of all Bose speakers are particular, he did not eliminate all the rust on one of the woofers and she should have painted them to protect against the rust...other than that good job.

Bose has never been ‘hi/fi’ and the stuff they produced was overpriced and made of the cheapest possible materials. No one would review their products honestly because Bose would come after them with lawsuits. Also Bose stuff would never be displayed alongside other audio products in a store to prevent side by side comparisons. It’s not better sound through research it’s better profits through clever marketing. I had the 301s and didn’t like the sound. Cheap fluffy particle board with a $10 woofer and $3 tweeters.

Excelente trabalho, uma pena que aqui no Brasil é muito difícil encontrar pessoas competentes para fazer um trabalho deste. A Série 301 da Bose é uma obra prima em qualidade em reprodução.

Well done job. But, personally never liked this brand. Overpriced. Had the 301 once. Really cheap drivers, no Dome Tweeters but instead cheap (10 $) paper cone tweeters, no good crossovers. A light bulb in parallel as speaker protection = very bad for the amplifiers damping factor. Muddy basses and little highs. Not my sound.

Restoration? You basicly just made new 301's out of a few junk parts. BTW the cabinets should not be plywood, it should be MDF! You are going to spoil the "unique" sonic signature of those beauties.
