Christ that’s more than Covid fatalities, so it MUST be serious?
ОтветитьJust like Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize for doing Fcall?
ОтветитьHow long have we heard you complain that EV doors don't work when the electricity goes? And now you are clowning on it being demanded and tested for?...
ОтветитьIf those two guys don't poop does that mean they are full of Shit?
ОтветитьDude, everyone is shit scared of Drowning in 100 Years time as the Gullible Warming Floods turn Ostralia into a submarine.
Ответить"All models come equipped with the Keith Moon special safety package"
ОтветитьFrom memory, the ones in recent memory that have been trapped in cars while submerged were children. ANCAP ain't gonna help those kids with a safety hammer; dodgy parental intervention is what they needed!!
ОтветитьIts been rested before, and IF you can stay calm and wait for the entire cab to be filled with water. You can open the door as the pressure should be ewual. But..its about staying calm in that air bubble. While your cab is filling with water. With with newer cars that claim "sealed from NBC"... You'll lose that pressure differential so slowly that you might not make that last manageable breath. Even more so if that mfg wants armored glass in all their vehicles. The eletronics can still eaily fail and windows stop working for the second or so they can.
It is possible to open the door and window while the vehicle is partially submerged, but it must be before water has started to reach that door or window. Which in the case of most vehicles, is maybe a few seconds you have to force it open.
My (old) car has crank down windows and mechanical latches. The world is plunging into madness.
ОтветитьIn the meatime, many people switch off lane keeping because it's work in progress.
ОтветитьI’ve been seeing a lot of ads going on about car doors not opening under water, dunno what they’re on about because i never go past the obligatory 5 second wait time. But now seeing this it makes me wonder why the trend? Has there been a lot of cars going under lately? Or are they expecting a lot of rain in the near future? Maybe i should sell the car and build a floating zoo.
ОтветитьAs soon as you say "Taxpayer Funded" there's your answer. Pure propaganda as always from Bureaucrats!
ОтветитьANCAP next test?
Resistance to UFO or zombie attack??
Explosive door hinges...like AMG GT
ОтветитьSounds like the safety escape hammer will come in useful for road range incidents too
ОтветитьI have been led to believe that ANCAP is about to introduce a Thermonuclear Survivabilty Test Rating based on the cain capsule heat and radiation reflecting ability. We'll probably see this with the yet to be announced (publicly) MG Chery Maralinga GTR SUV. I'm ordering one now online. Don't want to miss out!
ОтветитьThere were 2 cars in qld during the last storm that were hit by lightning
When is ANPAC going to introduce compulsory lightning strike tests for new cars ?
I have no idea how true this is, but apparently you can use your seat-belt buckle to smash a window. Not the sort of thing I have the means or inclination to test, but if anyone out there has access to a wrecking yard, it'd be pretty interesting to see if it's true.
ОтветитьThe government needs to SHIT-CAN their funding to this RUBBISH!!
ОтветитьBureaucratic measures result in bureaucratic chicanery.
ОтветитьWe lived in Japan in the early 70's, my father was stationed there. There was a car manufacturer there called Cherry, they made cool little cars. Very popular there, of course probably zero safety rating compared to today's standards.
ОтветитьWhat I need to know is if it will get me and my mates down to see the Titanic without imploding. 🤣
ОтветитьThey shut down the whole world not long ago for less than 1% risk 😂
ОтветитьMeanwhile, in China, SEVEN EV's CATCH FIRE EVERY DAY.
ОтветитьWhat is the specification for EVs? Double the weight.😮
ОтветитьGreat video as always John. Just ordered myself an Olightwsrrior seeker2 to replace my now deceased surefire torch, used your code and saved $27. Thanks heaps I was going to order through Amazon but thought I’d support your work so you can get an affiliate payment 😢
Ответитьi would NEVER buy communist made cars .. remember Trabant
ОтветитьCould Ancap be an example of "peak woke"? Perhaps a theory of why the car industry won't stand up to anyone including ANCAP for their ridiculous ideas or new requirements is perhaps the fear of being penalized for going against their way of thinking or at least questioning it. Such a theory wouldn't surprise if it were true.
ОтветитьPlugs Chinese made products for money, bags out Chinese made products for money!
This guy is a Farking genius.
More people (I think) die at the wheel having a heart attack, so will ANCAP demand an in-car defibrillator to gain 5 stars next?
Ответить5 stars? I smell Palm Grease! Eew, smells like dead people and burnt batteries..
ОтветитьIf you watch the crash test summary video the side impact on the pole is truly horrible.
ОтветитьThese vehicles comes with a 10 year 1000 000km warranty in South Africa.
ОтветитьIf I had to survive a car crashing and submerging in water, I would rather be driving a 1951 Chevy DeLuxe than any modern car. The windows and door latches were all mechanical and there is ample room to get out from behind the steering wheel. In most modern cars with their power everything and "lumbar supporting, side bolstered seats? Good luck!
ОтветитьHey John, any info on the Xiaomi
ОтветитьWhy you so salty?
ОтветитьANCAP really has some terrible priorities, you could have top marks in the crash testing but miss out on a 5 star rating because the car maker spent their money on making the car safe in a crash and didn't add the $10 hammer.
ОтветитьThis scored 5 stars on ANCAP. The Mahindra Scorpio scored 0 stars. Is either car safer than the other? Given the confusion and new ANCAP criteria, are they much of a muchness in real world conditions?
ОтветитьThe tag, made in china still applies today as it did 40 years ago. For those old enough to remember should need no further clues.
ОтветитьI wonder if ANCAP has completed a crash test with dumies having received various states of trauma up to and including total immobility tgeyn how many seconds and minutes then must hold their breath to not inhale (or touch) the excessively toxic gasses. Also how long they can survive as the burning battery heads up to 2500°C
ОтветитьSounds like an Erin Brokovich court case coming up. Watch ANCAP and the Government denying all knowledge but each pointing at each other .
This sounds like another motoring scam forcoyng unsafe & uneconomic the consumer
I know how this kind of business is done Chinese-style.
Thus, I know how this five star rating came about.
Why not have a glass breaking tip in every seatbelt buckle? They may need to be on the inside edge or under a plastic cover to prevent accidental breakage.
ОтветитьClearly these knobheads have never tried using a hammer underwater else they'd know how futile it is to try and hit something with the impact required to break toughened glass. Better by far to carry a spring loaded metal punch in your pocket.
ОтветитьMoney Talks John.
I wouldn't be surprise Chery paid ANCAP to give their vehicles a 5-Star Rating.
A
ANCAP is a joke. I take no notice of the star rating because it is flawed. I have upset a few carsales people when they said the car had 5 stars. My comments ranged from useles rating to asking when and how long ago that rating was awarded. Why hasn't our motoring organisation commented on this faulty questionable rating system?
The federal minister needs to issue written warnings - tomorrow - to every single ANCAP and departmental (emphasis on mental) employee involved in this shit show. No excuses.
ОтветитьThere are many cars that won't let you open the window if crashed on the dry, let alone under water.
The ability of opening /breaking the window under water is the prerequisite for being able to open the door given the outside water pressure.
I have been carrying a hammer in my car ever since manual opening of the windows is NOT available in passenger vehicles. Such hammer is available at your nearest friendly Bunnings outlet under $10 ..., you really do not need one from the car manufacturer.
As you say, ridiculous. I'd like some testing of what the Cyber Truck does to other vehicles but I doubt that will occur. Europeans are wise to ban it because of pedestrian safety but I doubt the Americans will care what the new poster child results in for other road users.
ОтветитьIs the special hammer velcroed to the steering wheel, so that it can easily be located in the driver's chest immediately after an accident? Could account for the brown rating to the chest area...
Ответить
