The acting is so very, very bad. And i thought she said there was black stuff coming out of the founders butt.

This thing has a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics are such cowards when it comes to controversial movies about women. When a movie is shit, just admit it. Don't be intimidated, don't be bullied.

I don’t try to be an activist for much, as I don’t like getting too involved in political or social things.
But I will say, I feel like this type of narrative and defense surrounding a movie/message like this is very intentional. People do this a lot, and it’s been very common among many women over the last many years. It’s the act of making yourself into a victim, not because you want oppression or abuse to stop, but because with victimization comes power. If you’re seen as a victim by society, then you have more control. You’re allowed to say and do more, and have more control over the narrative, because people want to protect you and make sure victims are given more privilege.

That’s why the people who support a movie like this will tell you your opinion doesn’t matter or that you don’t understand, because the goal isn’t to fix anything. It’s simply to push the narrative that they are victims of abuse and oppression forever, solidifying a position of power. They aren’t looking for a solution or harmony, because without the conflict, there’s no power discrepancy, and therefore no victims.

I think this movie is more concerned with doing a propaganda piece than an actual movie, an it fails as propaganda and as a movie, is just bad

This feels like one of those cheap in-universe slashers that you might see in Scream or some other movie, like a film-within-a-film that's deliberately cliched, amateur and poorly written.

You could honestly argue that movies like this are actually directed more towards men than women if anything, because if women as the creators have problems with certain men in the real world, then those men should be the primary demographic that you would want to have your message(s) conveyed towards.

Woke garbage and not entertaining at all. BlumHouse made trash under Donald Trump's Presidency. Now under Mr. Dementia's Presidency they've actually put out some good movies. I would still prefer Trump even if Blumhouse put out their woke garbage movies. I feel like the Country as a whole was better and everything was much more affordable under the man they constantly vilified in the media. Brittany O'Grady (Kris)basically the same character in the first season of The White lotus, but better writen that is. And i Think She gave a good performance. In the show.

This remake completely sucks, but the original 1974 film is in fact the OG progenitor of the North American slasher film. It is the first horror film to include all of the elements which would later come to define the genre and directly influence John Carpenter’s Halloween, which is, of course, the movie that would later come to popularize the genre 4 years later. You’d be hard pressed to name a horror film that manages to be simultaneously be both obscene and genuinely frightening. A true oft overlooked classic that defined a complete film genre.

Both of the remakes absolutely suck, but the original BC is absolutely the OG progenitor of the North American slasher genre. It is possible to identify October of 1974 as the precise moment that birthed the slasher movie. It’s the first film to include all of the elements that would come to popularize the genre with the release of John Carpenter’s heavily influenced Halloween 4 years later. Prior to this, we only had giallo and Psycho. A true horror classic.

Ironically "halloween but just some guy" is exactly how halloween ends, ends! Lmao

I just picked this up at my local JB's for less than $5 new (because they had so many additional copies that remained unsold and they just wanted to get rid of it) just to see how bad it is, and it was so bad that me and the person I watched it with made fun of it the entire time, and by the movie's end, we collectively snapped the disc in anger.

If you showed this shit to the Critical Drinker, he'd drink so much during it he'd die of alcohol poising, that's how much they pushed "The Message" (mind you this was quite literally the director's intentions as evident in the Special Featurettes of the DVD), and that sort of shit would usually be the least of a bad movie's problems, but not in this one apparently. Also, this movie is just not scary, badly paced, the characterization is haphazardly done, the writing is just plain bad, it tries to pander to the r/FellowKids audience with the constant internet references, and the whole thing is nothing short of a mess.

Maybe the movie was done intentionally bad so that more people would watch the 2006 one again?

Watched it last week. It sucked I really hated it. It once again is an insult and forgets the whole point of what the original represented.

What a terrible movie, even a lot worse than I expected. I've honestly never wished the main characters to get killed more and the few kills suck to top it off.

I knew this film was bad when I wanted all the protagonists dead before the end of the 1st Act.
