How to fix LED LCD TV black screen no backlight, TV disassemble, testing LEDs, ordering part, repair

if some led strips light up when testing shouldnt the screen still light up across the working led strips?

Nice job. I am tackling an Element 65" no LED's at all. The funny part about this video is there were no LED's lit up when you used the flashlight, yet the tester showed about 5-6 LED's out. SO why didn't we see a partial screen? My TV has the same config as that one, no separate LED driver board. I will test the Voltages at the red & White wires out of the PS board. Then disassemble to get to the LED Strips... ugh!! I am across the way in Merritt Island by Cocoa Beach. - SurfStyle card :)

Thanks so much. Gave my TV a really good deep clean at the same time. It really worked. Changing the LED strips was 100% the easiest and most satisfying part of the job 😂 I did swear a lot when we got to the part where you said we should have removed the TV board to get the white pins out. Still, no big deal. Sorted my TV for £22. ❤

What if the flashlight test doesn't work?

This tutorial is 6 years old so you may never see my comment but I loved this 2 part tutorial. I had already done the flashlight test before I found this tutorial but I didn't know what to do next.
I checked your channel. I'm glad you're still creating content in 2023.

My 32' Hisense roku tv doesn't have the screws all the around like this one, just on the bottom.
So I'm trying to really carefully get the glass off, but it's stuck.

Your candid instructions are the best so far I followed. My BRUM TV LED stopped functioning at the beginning of the year. Its warranty had expired but I was referred to the company workshop in Kenya. The company charged me USD 65 to replace them. this was too much and I had the TV returned without repair. I got the New LED from a dealer at $20 and fixed it myself. Thanks so much for this useful information

i got a samsung 65 inch curved

I have no video and no backlight on the tv
When i disconnect at least 1 of the 2 ribbon cables (or both) that go from t con to panel than i get the backlight on, when i connect them back again and when i dissconect the ribbon cable that goes from t con to main board (i think this one is called LDSV or something) than the backlight goes on again....

I cant understand if in this case if the t con or panel is bad?

Hi, could you put the led tester power supply onto the 2 wires that come out of mother board( that feed the led strips?) Even if one row is not working..better to change the whole lot??

I removed led backlights and forget to look what order they where in there. I have 5 labelled A A B B C. What order do I put the new ones in or does it matter?

Hey guys i need help. I'm a total novice at electronics I have an older LG 42LN5300 with the dreaded black screen problem. I did all the troubleshooting in the videos and had no luck so finally replaced both boards. However, still no luck so now trying to test the backlight straps. Mine is an older TV and only has 5 straps. Additionally, at the connection point it has 2 negatives and 1 positive points. How do I go about testing the straps and what should I set the testing meter to? Again total new to this, apologies for my ignorance on the topic. Thanks

I just wanna send you my tv to fix and see what's wrong with it but if I can figure it out the right part that's defective and get it right it shows a blue light and it flickers on then goes to a black screen for some reason

Relative to the amount of time and effort, what is he cheapest TV you would consider worth repairing? I am trying to imagine tearing into my $300 monitor just to find out what parts I need to order. I don't have the space to leave it sitting around disassembled. And if I had to wait weeks for parts to arrive, I would forget how to reassemble it. Add to that this is my primary computer display which I can't easily do without. So my question is... is it worth trying to repair a $300 monitor?
