1 inch phones make these point and shoots kinda pointless :v
Like sure you can get good footage with the point and shoot
But so can you with a 1 inch sensor phone :))

I can tell the right one is the iPhone because of the better dynamic range. The Sony looks a little more natural and less processed

Некорректное сравнение. Телефон это мульти устройство, то есть компьютер + камера. А Sony ZV-1 это просто камера. Соответственно и сравниваться должна в комплексе с компьютером и последующей постобработкой. В любом случае монтаж происходит всегда на компьютере. А телефон может и сам внутри себя всё сделать.

I was pretty shocked that the camera ended up as the example with completely blown highlights. Like 5-10 years ago this would be completely impossible for a phone! Regardless of what you prefer, it’s undeniable how incredible mobile photography/videography is in 2023.

You absolutly miss the biggest issue smartphone camera have. Its shooting at low light/night. Smartphone photos looks absolutly crap if you shoot side by side and compare it later on a big screen. Regadless what smartphone brand u use (apple, samsung etc.). Im always amazed when i see pics shot by my new iphone 15 but when I compare it to my real camera. i m blown away by the quality difference. during day light smartphones do crazy good pics but at low light especially night in real scenario, it turns out how bad they still are to real cameras. And no i m not talking about a heavy bulky camera. I m talking about compact cameras.

Thanks for the comparison. I'm not a photographer but I prefer how the image looks from the zv-1, more contrast and natural. I used to think the pictures from phones look great but recently started to find them unnatural and washed out. I'm seriously considering buying the zv-1 for travel instead of upgrading my phone.

I feel like you glossed over the photo image quality aspect because my iphone 14 pro max takes garbage photos. The processing profile on it is horrendous I actually regret upgrading from the 11 pro max. Ive gotten to the point where I take videos and use the white image snapshot button to take photos because it at least looks color accurate. Im also considering a dedicated camera because i hate tying up my phone while I try to film stuff - and same reason i don't want it cluttering up the camera roll on my phone! I probably need it more for photos than I do filming though so really wish this vid didnt gloss over that as it didnt quite sway me one side or the other.

Well I have a ZV1 and it's great. However with all the AI + software I expect the iphone 15pro and 16pro to be a lot better at the final stage...again no difference in my opinion.

How about photo comparison ?

For all you people that say iPhone is better and the way to go, when you get married, tell the photographer to use his smartphone to get all the pictures and videos.
Then have him PRINT your wedding photos on 8.5 x 11 Paper and see how they look 😂
Oh wait, people today dont print pictures anymore to hang on their walls 🤔 everything is on their phone ... 😂 ...

My point and shoot has much better zoom into picture detail than my iphone OR my Galaxy Fold ....
With the iPhone or the Galaxy Fold, when i zoom into a picture, it gets blurry and cant make out the smaller details in the picture where as on my Point & Shoot, i can zoom into the picture down to the smallest detail and see it clear.

I agree a camera is still the best am iPhone has so many technicality you can’t see yourself have yo use an iPhone watch that means you must buy an iPhone watch to get a clearer video and the phone itself is expensive. With a camera like the Sony it cost less and you don’t need an external device only a microphone and a grip if you vlog. I don’t like the quality of the iphone

I wanted to be correct but I guessed wrong. The iPhone video seemed brighter. Sharper. More “real”. Crazy. :( I wish a camera would replace my phone but it seems like the phone in my hand has the best shots. :/

Also if you need a camera with a quality of iPhone get an action cam - around 400$ / or an Android phone of same price

This was such a great video! I wanted it to be a SLAM-DUNK in favor of the ZV-1. Somehow, I was sure I knew which camera produced which pictures, but I was wrong. My ZS100 has a good zoom and much stronger flash, and I absolutely hate the iPhone / iCloud / iPhoto workflow. For that reason I greatly prefer shooting with my ZS100 with SD card while on vacation. The iPhone flattens the mountains with its wide-angle lens which takes away your chance to brag about your big beautiful mountains. I'd like to see such a comparison with a compact APS-C camera. Does the choice become clearer? Is it worth the upgrade from the ZS100 and do I still get a good zoom...?

I've been using Sony ZV-1 for about 2 years now. I love the result so much from ZV-1 and it's half the price of the newest iPhone back then. However, many times security would forbid me to record with this camera (but it's ok with phone camera).

Isn't post production edit solves most iphone (except cinematic mode) problem though?

I kind of knew the ending result I have a Sony A5100 I never use because I’ll rather use my iPhone 14 plus or Samsung galaxy Ultra (yes I have two phones lol)
