Caught on Camera: This is the moment a man attempted to steal a bicycle from an address in Southend in broad daylight yesterday.

The male was caught on a homeowner's CCTV camera, climbing over a garden wall to steal a bicycle in the garden.

However the movement on the camera alerted the homeowner, who was able to activate an alarm sound.

Surprised by the alarm sound, the man abandoned the attempted theft and jumped back over the garden wall.
