Japanese is easy to learn in the very beginning. You can quickly learn to clumsily communicate with Japanese guys. But it is extremely difficult for a foreigner to master business Japanese. Japanese guys have thousands of ways to show their respect in their sentences and they always neglect something to let you guess. It takes a long long time for a foreigner to understand their "art of speaking". I am still stucked in this stage and almost give up.

日本語は日本人でも漢字を全部覚えられてないから難しいです。
ひらがなとカタカナ、簡単な漢字さえ覚えておけばある程度日本で生活できそうです。
難しい漢字は日本人でも書ける人が全員ではありません。完璧は難しいですね。

Haha you pronounciate the Japanese is so nice, and much better than the mandarin. Your accent in mandarin has that classic tone of foreign speakers.
Wonder how long did you study each of these languages respectively?

I was born in Korea so Korean is my first language. I study Japanese in high school which focus on foreign language. Now, I study Chinese in university and I have lots of friends who can speak Chinese very well. So, I want to share my opinion. I think it will be helpful to u.

Japanese is easiest language to pronounce. Watching just one Japanese animation, you can learn Japanese vibe. Japanese is easy to imitate. But Japanese have a lot of grammar rules to speak politely. Starting Japanese is easy but, speaking politely is very hard. Japanese use Chinese characters. So Japanese high school students have test to study Chinese characters. Japanese people don't know all Chinese characters.
🇯🇵 starting - easy ~~~~> be difficult

Next Korean! If you take just half of day, you can remember Hangeul. If u study this, u can read all letters. King Sejong who create Hangeul said stupid people can run Hanguel in five days. But Pronunciation is difficult. Whe have 받침(bat-chim). Most of my foreigner friends give up to learn Korean because of 받침. Also, we have lots of rules to pronounce Korean. They are so difficult to foreigners. Korea have difficult rules about writing.
I can see -> 나는 볼 수 있다.
나는 is I , 볼 수 있다 is can see
If u don't follow this rules Koreans feel difficult to read your message. Practice speaking maybe two or three month, you can imitate speaking Korean. But writing is difficult.
(Because of Chinese Character, Japanese and Chinese are so difficult to write. Actually, I study Japanese almost 10 years but writing is so so difficult😭)

🇰🇷 Hangeul -> soooo easy
Speaking -> difficult !!

Last Chinese. I think Chinese is the most difficult language. First, they have four type of accent. If u use different accent, they can't understand most of your words. Second, if u don't know Chinese Character, u can't read something or write something. Most of my friends who can speak Chinese very well say when u go to China, u study about all of pronunciation again. My friend study Chinese for 10 years but she have difficult to speak with Chineses. I lean Chinese for 2 years. But, I'm beginner. Chinese <- sooooooooooo hard 😭

I'm not good at writing in English so I feel sorry to u 😢 If u have some question, just leave some comments. Have a nice day~

As a chinese, if I get a package written in Japanese, I can understood what it is mainly talking about because it have some same characters of traditional chinese(but confused by te katakanas). However I have no idea with Korean. That's a good advice to learn Japanese as a begining, because it is more easily to pronounce (by looking at romaji), and the grammar is not quite hard. (Chinese is really hard to learn, not only the tone but also the thousans of characters, and the countless homonyms.)

Learning a new language is a long journey. You should choose the language, depending on the reason why you were obsessed with each culture. The worst reason is for white to learn for easy hookups in Asia. From Asian perspective, it looks creepy pedophile using a skin color and nationality as a white suprimacist. It only attracts sluts with low key and it will never last long to learn enough for business.

Why do people think Japanese, Korea and Chinese are separate? I guess this is mainly because China is in a shitty political system. Anyway, most of Japanese and Korean language are borrowing idea from Chinese, they took a base writing system from Chinese adding letter based system. Chinese culture and language have so much to learn even for native speaker, let alone outside foreigner. Chinese language is the best and most sophisticated!!!!

China is the second largest economy in the world, and Chinese is the greatest language in the world with beautiful writing. It has a cultural history of five thousand years. South Korea and Japan were once vassals of China. If you have the chance to come to China, you will definitely fall in love with it, and between the three, I guarantee you will definitely learn Chinese.

I would agree that starting with Japanese might be best for more or less the same reasons. I started studying Japanese in Poland in 1979 and immigrated to Japan in 1981 (I became a Japanese citizen). Once in Japan, I learned Japanese and then studied Chinese literature in graduate school at Kyushu University after teaching myself Chinese (before the Internet age so I learned the hard way).

Hangul and Kana are on alphabets, they are syllabaries.
Alphabets and syllabaries are both systems of writing, but they differ in how they represent the basic units of sound in a language.

Alphabet:

An alphabet is a writing system in which each symbol (letter) represents a single sound or phoneme.
The basic units of writing in an alphabet are individual letters, each typically corresponding to a consonant or a vowel sound.
Examples of languages that use alphabets include English, Spanish, and Greek.
Syllabary:

A syllabary is a writing system in which each symbol represents a syllable, a unit of sound that typically consists of a consonant and a vowel.
In a syllabary, characters represent combinations of consonant and vowel sounds, making them inherently more complex than individual letters in an alphabet.
Examples of languages that use syllabaries include Japanese (kana) and Cherokee.
In summary, the main difference lies in what the basic unit of representation is. In an alphabet, it's individual sounds or phonemes (usually consonants and vowels), while in a syllabary, it's entire syllables.

If you start learning Chinese, you will find that Japanese is just one of the Chinese dialects, and some of the words in Korean have same pronunciation in Chinese. Since hundreds of years, both Japanese and Korean derived from Chinese. So if you master the source of the language, then you will get the derivative as bonus. Now you should know which one should you start from.

as these 3 languages and english speaker, I would recommend that the people those who are belonged to native indian-european languages group speakers, chinese is better to start to study first. turkish(not only republic of turkish but also azerbaijan, kazakh, uzbek, turkmen, kirghiz), hungarian, mongolian, manchewrian(those who can still speak manchewrian as native), tatar, these people are better to start to study korean first. after learn korean well, japanese will be launched from your mouth and brain very easily. the reason that I don't recommend to study japanese first is cause of pronounciation. after you got the japanese promounciation well first, you will feel that korean is more difficult that you thought to pronounce and chinese is a way difficult that you thought to pronounce. first, choose the language that has the most kinds of pronounciations. chinese and japanese kinds of pronounciations are way fewer than korean.
