MWC do a better version than this. In auto or VH31 sweep meca quartz. 18mm lugs. They do a wicked range of Dirty Dozen reps as well. 😊

Thank you Tom for introducing me to Praesidus….great review video. In my opinion, the major downer is not the sapphire crystal or the sizes (which I appreciate), but the quartz movement, too bad it couldn’t be a manual wind.

I own a Marathon officers with an eta 2801 manual wind. It has 16mm lug width as well. I make my own straps. Military watches are one of my favorite genres

Size is great but I don’t like fake patina, it should have been green. The case back looks great though

Every WW2 watch I've ever serviced had a screw down case back.

The original A11 and A17 watches had screw down cases !

I'd trade the 16mm authenticity for an extra 2mm to be able to use straps from other sellers. 18mm is fairly common. 16mm... not so. That and the fatness... yeah not for me. I also detect a fair amount of blue AR coating? That's something I never like seeing. I think that crystal is probably single-domed given that side distortion. Much prefer double-domed for readability. The novelty of single-domed wears off pretty fast.

Snap case back just next to quick release springbars. Kind of a mixture of past and present. But the aesthetics is so cool 👌

As a daily wearer of a (modern) sterile dial Flieger, I approve of this approach and watches that are readable in low light and no specs conditions.

I rather like them but in terms of authenticity, I would have expected a manual wind movement with no screw down crown and a basic crystal.
Just saying.

Their watches are sooo tempting. especially there authentic sized ones.
