I just joined your channel's awesome build brother. The way you broke it down by steps makes it easy fa roockie like me thank you and thank you for your service..
ОтветитьI'm about to build one of these, your videos is the best "how to" video I have seen. Great job my friend
ОтветитьFANCY FANCY!!
ОтветитьWhat size were the bolts that you used to hold the cooking grates in place? The building looks great, and I look forward to completing mine this weekend.
ОтветитьWoah 10 yrs old very useful video❤ thank you.
ОтветитьDoes it make much difference where you place the thermometer? I have seen videos where the thermometer is places just under the lower grill, where you put yours and in the top of the lid. Thanks,
Phillip Hall
I love this video thank you. I'll be making a new uds shortly
ОтветитьExcellent ! Former Navy myself and have 3 smokers already. Found a 16 gallon drum and am starting a pint sized version. Should make a good brisket smoker.......I hope. Thanks for your video and your service !
ОтветитьNice setup, old soldier.
ОтветитьGreat video. I have a few questions. 1. How did you get the ranger outline up, or is that a license plate? And 2 how do you get the lid off the top of the food grade barrel? Im a warrant officer and looking to make one of these soon to start my business here in MD. Look forward to the reply
Ответитьyou make it easy to follow thanks
ОтветитьAwesome bro. Nice job. Salute
ОтветитьGreat Video!! Now its WILD HOG HUNTIN TIME!!!>.........:0)....
ОтветитьI've been in construction for over 30 years and build all sorts of stuff in my shop, never heard of anyone laying out a build with a dollar bill 🙃🙃🙃
ОтветитьNice smoker. Now use that dollar to go buy mini tape measure. Haha
Ответитьthat dollar trick is really kool!!!:)
ОтветитьI just loved it you did a fantastic job I enjoyed your video
ОтветитьWe 40 & a lite oil will do
Ответитьenjoyed you build
Ответитьthe next time you have to drill with the step bit take a piece of masking tape and apply around the step bit at the proper diameter notch and drill down to the tape
ОтветитьDid you find that the 2 x 3/4 inch intakes were sufficient? Or would you have gone bigger if you could? Im building my own and I've got 3/4 inch connections lying around.
ОтветитьGreat video did exactly what you did other than the lid i used my webber dome for that allows me to do a standing chicken thanks for the vid , AATW , Rangers lead the way !!!
ОтветитьI made mine almost identical to your except for the lid and it doesn’t seem to be getting enough oxygen and won’t get much hotter than 250 degrees. Any suggestions??
ОтветитьWhat size are your grilling grates?
ОтветитьAfter the burn out… you you sand and wash the inside?
ОтветитьHows the smoker holding up?
Ответитьno water pan needed?
ОтветитьI love this guy but he needs a few measuring devices. Lol.
Ответитьlove the video! not some over the top edit, pure and wholesome.
ОтветитьVery nice finished product. Having done a lot of training I want to compliment u on your meticulous detail. You’re a great instructor !!!
Nice work!!! Your Ranger logo, is that a decal or some kind of metal placard??? Thanks 🙏🏽
Fantastic vid and super helpful. Thank you sir!
ОтветитьI know the video was made 8 years ago but I'm going to use this as a model video for when I make one this weekend. A bit different color scheme of course lol
ОтветитьNot a bad setup wished it had been longer so we could see how well it cooks .
ОтветитьGood video sir
ОтветитьI usually use a Sharpie to color the next bigger step when doing multiple holes.
ОтветитьGreat video!!
Just one question, what is holding up the ranger license plate? I want to hang a metal sign on mine.
Is it self tapping screws?
Thanks.
I built mine very close to how yours is done and have really enjoyed it this past year! That said, for anyone new to this vid, I would probably have to recommend finding a drum locally and then ordering a kit of parts online.
You might be thinking you can beat the $150 kit price tag by doing it entirely DIY, but I really doubt it unless you already have a lot of this stuff on hand. My home depot runs exceeded that. I also wish I had gone the kit direction because I think I'd prefer sliding vents on the bottom, and just one exhaust on top.
I also REALLY wish I had spent an extra $50 to get an unlined steel drum from my local supplier instead of getting the cheaper one with a liner. That was a PAIN to burn and grind out.
But at the end of the day, I've got an awesome smoker thanks to this vid. Making your own barbecue, especially on a drum, is a whole new level. You just can't beat it. You can load it up with coals, get those valves checked right, and it will hold low and slow temps forever with minimal attention. Thanks for this video to get me introduced to this hobby, man.
You a real one bruh. Wish I had you as a neighbor fr. I could learn alot from a down to earth, bbq enthusiast like you. Lots of cold beer, racks on racks on racks of ribs and just good ole bullshitting and conversating about anything and everythjng and helping each other on everyday projects around the house. Weather it be brake work on our cars or landscaping and especially bbquing and lots of beer drinking. You the kind of peoples I like to make friends with. Thanks for the thorough step by step process of makiny my own UDS 💪
ОтветитьNice just finished a file cabinet smoker I think I know what my next project is and use your specs!! Thanks man! Looks amazing great build.
ОтветитьAnother old video popped up in my list. Good one
Ответитьstraight forward and easy to follow. I've created a list of parts and I'm going to give this a go real soon. Cheers
ОтветитьThank you for this amazing video!
ОтветитьI know it's been a long time but I fully enjoyed this segment.
ОтветитьI dig the hat
ОтветитьThe Sooo much for inspiring me to build my UDS😎
ОтветитьHe said bung hole!
ОтветитьGreat Video, thanks
ОтветитьFantastic video. I really enjoyed watching this. I'd love to see an update video down the road on how it's cooking and holding up. Thank you! And THANK YOU for your service, Sir! All the best in your retirement...
