A serious critique of Genshin Impact

The funny thing about Bennet is that he's part of the Big 3. Those being Bennet, Fischl and Xingqiu. These 3 relatvely easy to get 4 stars have been at the top of the meta for most of the game's lifespan. Hell, they even dog on most 5 stars. There is even a joke that Bennet is the true Pyro Archon

After playing genshin for a few months, I learned that you have to not bend to its will. When wishing, I use a few ground rules.
1. No using primos on the standard banner
2. No wishing on the weapon banner.
As for characters, they have to be good and fun to play at C0, with a f2p friendly weapon and they cannot need specific 5 stars to truly shine. It has been going great so far

i bet someone who has more experienced in genshin than i do that can easily bring up a point that goes against these but then again im making this two years later and stuff changes so i acknowledge that being wrong for a game that hasnt been out for long in the past isnt a good reason to hate on a video

Not me watching this playing genshin. I think rule of thumb is don’t olay gacha games if you do not know how to spend responsibly, the real problem of gacha games is it brings upon gambling addiction which ruins people’s lives just like drugs and alcohol does.

concerning "waifus" there has been actual research done into the topic, just not under that name. Look into parasocial relationships/obsession with fictional characters and you'll see the research done into why these exist and how someone might be predisposed to enter into one.

The vast majority of Genshin videos are either pure hype or pure hate--for the entire game, or specific characters/quests--but this is a rare exception that analyzes all the pros and cons in detail, and I'd recommend any interested not-yet-players to watch this first so they know what they're signing up for.

Most of the points are still valid over two years later... partly because the gacha and grinding system has barely changed at all (don't want to rock the money-making boat, I guess). Inazuma's story kind of fell apart towards the end, but Sumeru and Fontaine were far enough down the development pipeline to take advantage of the game's blockbuster profits, and really took it to the next level. Monetization through gambling is obviously problematic, but the funds certainly aren't going to waste.

And, even disregarding everything else, this whole video is worth watching just for the buildup to "maybe Porco Rosso is my waifu."

I was so emotional when he said the word, its liyue that made me connect to genshin when he is standing at the spot where I also first discovered the existence of liyue, liyue meant so much to me I still remember the few hours of gameplay that made me love this game when I first discover liyue and started exploring the region.

In my opinion Gacha game is just like all other games, there is 2 type of game in this world one with a hot character and a Gacha system, that keeps you hooked by constantly making new hot character and forcing you to grind on the game to earn in-game currency to get them. The second type is what most FPS/TPS games are they have raking that rest every and battle pass that you need to earn a set amount of XP every season so u don't lose it and earn money by giving their game a price tag and selling it and giving out asking for ur character and weapon, which the player doesn't intend to buy when they first get the game but still end up buying it wither because there is no more content after you finish the event and battle pass of every season or the skin gives you pay to win buffs. So Gacha game is not that evil since battle pass and seasonal ranking are basically the same as the Gacha system as they both serve the purpose of having you constantly hooked to the game.

You're right, the western way to produce and disseminate games isn't better, because we're used to it. But considering that the censorship in China is as bad as it is causing their methods to be necessary, that does make the western method better.

Worst part of genshin is that i cant play the game start to finish with a friend having to do many things singleplayer when i honestly shouldnt have to.

Hypothesis: The reason for waifus is that (usually lonely) people like to form an idealized version of themselves, which they can project as a (usually romantic) stand in to pair with the chosen fictional character. It's a fantasy of who they could be with if only they could be who they want to be.

I like genshin because i like gambling and anime girls. Pulling for 5 star is the main appeal of this game, nothing else. And they did a damn good job at that by character design, story, music, etc.

My husband and I share and account because I have a history of gatcha game whaling, so he's incharge of all whishing/money spending. I understand why that would sound bad but having his account listed instead of mine prevents me from spending money, it works and that's what matters.
I still have so much fun playing with my janky teams with weird synergy! My exploring team (Candace, Kaeya, Amber, and Beidou) and my regional specials team (Kaeya, [regional special talent passive character], Sayu, Kirara) have little to no synergy but serve their purposes well!
I like grinding for materials to make the characters we have better and hoarding primos for the characters we do want. The most upsetting thing is that Raiden and Itto might be running back to back because my husband wants Raiden and I want Itto so we agreed that if that does end up happening we would pay for whichever one comes up second.

How to get saved and be right with God for eternal life! As anyone can get saved!

if what genshin has done catches on, it could save a very desperate mobile gaming industry that has as of late found itself in quite a pothole of high quantity, low quality content. if gaming studios can see that they can invest lots of time and effort into an idea and still be able to competitively monetize it in a similar way to how mihoyo has done with genshin, hopefully we can look forward to higher quality games finally reaching mobile devices.

Make a continent of lonely incels. Make them pay for digital, cute, small girls.

Asian gamers are so used to gacha that they don’t care. Whether it is because of Mao, Nukes or whatever, everyone need to boycott gacha.

Back in High School I tried to download as many gacha games on my phone at once what I found is that American releases are copy and pasted with a couple of exceptions especially big licenses like Star Wars and Marvel. Meanwhile the ones from Japan are a lot more diverse in gameplay and extremely sexualized, mostly of women.
