Interesting. I don’t insert my thumb at all. Just two finger and hook the ball with one hand. I’m a lefty as well and a casual bowler. I need to get my own ball now

I can do this with a softball but can't with my bowling ball. Mayne i need to make something the shape of bowling ball but make it like a 5 pound and see if that helps to get it. I come more up the back like im throwing it straight down the lane. My ball is hooking right atthe end but that is definitely the ball

That second guy with his pinky in the ball grippers...damn i was gonna say hole but the pause pilice had me nervous and what i thought of instead was no better...at all....... Nevertheless that guy using his pinky is driving me crazy, how do you even hold it like that????

I’ve learned to do this almost effortlessly and get strikes but I know there’s gotta be different varieties of hooks to bowling but I just can throw mine down the middle and have it ride the right outside gutter and it comes back in the middle for the strike everytime

Ok I’m confused on how these people are not “crossing their bodies” bc when they release their hands are way left of their ears like around where their nose is at

Two handed bowler here... I'm trying to decipher between having my hand behind the ball more upon release, which feels unatural, or torwards the side of the ball applying more spin. 🤔

Hooking the bowling ball like the pros are absolutely impossible and not achievable! I can’t do it! I can barely keep my arm straight consistently when I bowl. Either my arm goes left, right or I’m dead on it’s so frustrating

These days bowling balls hook by themselves soon as they come out of the Pro Shop

I averaged around 170 in league until someone spent half an hour teaching what you’re teaching. Within two months and good amount of practice I was a scratch bowler and had a 300 game in league play. Sadly, I got busy doing other things and never played after that year 25 years ago.

House balls won't hook. You have to buy like professional grade balls if you want that kind of hook.

I get all this but isn’t the secret being the weighted core along w most of these guys using an extreme inside line approach?

A lot of the pros also use elbow movement, ej Tackett for instance, like you can see in this video

And finally, buy your own ball. You'll never hook a club ball, so if you're a casual bowler who just wants to be decent, just learn how to bowl straight
