Lex is such a pussy here towards the end. Asking and pleading for "hope" and a positive spin on these institutions that are beyond repair. There is no hope in fixing these institutions when they've shown to be completely captured by the stupid and greedy. Wishing and "hoping" for a positive outcome won't make it happen.

As most people I used to wonder what led normal rational people in WW2 Germany, even George Sōros to do the terrible things they did. What led up to the Great Chinese Famine, how could people let this happen. But after studying that question, you learn about a series of steps necessary to create regimes like this and not only that the steps are always the same but they have been incrementally improved over time. First gain control of media, use the media to change the public discourse, and as a result, the laws and schools, even though the laws and schools were more productive in the past. so that each generation of youth will demonize the older generations that knew more about the importance of human rights. Raise kids by the state, not by the parents (Himlers Youth in Germany, the Communist Red Scarves). Ban the intellectuals that do not support the regime and burn their books. Then create a military that is loyal to the regime before it is loyal to the people. Make the people that do not support the regime terrorists, and allow the new military to kill them. Replace the population with a population that will die fighting for the regime. Of course this is all done through an ideology that demonizes the rest of the population, and glorifies the violence against them as the only solution, even though they are their own brothers and sisters. Conflict always before reconciliation. Getting humans to destroy each other en masse is the easy part.

I just started to discover some of these various clips around the internet with Eric Weinstein in them and he’s quickly becoming one of my new favorite people to listen to as he seems to be brilliantly insightful on so many different things (and has an uncanny ability to articulate things down to a foundational level where even the layman can capture the gist of what he’s trying to say).
