Insomniac learnt nothing from Web of shadows, and just made a cringe story mode, with a much improved combat system, but very weak at all points.
it's mimir alot this gamer after playing a bit with the black suit skills.
Due to the limitation also of having 2 protagonists I believe.
This balance between Miles and Peter was what destroyed the potential of Marvel's Spider Man 2.
Not being a hater, I just wished that Miles had separate ATTENTION to receive the same potential and quality that the game should have.
Mainly for Symbiote arc.
and in that they could have improved a lot of that horrible and cringe story mode hehe

Marvel Spider-Man 2 + Web of Shadows merged = perfection

The combat in WOS is the best in class, in ANY Spider-Man game, to date.
We really need to bring back button string combos.
I feel like insomniac is too focused on making the move sets feel "grounded" or somewhat plausible, but that's just silly imo.
I MUCH prefer the over the top animations and crazy maneuvers of old.

I like Spiderman 2, but what web of shadows does better than that game is explain why the fantastic four or avengers aren’t there to help with the invasion, and some street heroes help out like wolverine, Luke cage, and moon knight too. If anything, web of shadows introduced me to moon knight and Luke Cage. 😁

Imagine WoS's gameplay combined with Insomniac's cutscenes and voice acting (I love Yuri Lowenthal as Peter).

Web of Shadows was my jam back in the day. It's the reason I wanted a PS3 so bad. Which is ironic since 2018 Spider-Man is the reason I got a 4 and subsequently Spider-Man 2 is the reason I got a 5.

Spider-Man 2 gave us Scream but she should been Symbiote Black Cat in Web of Shadows inspired from OG Scream also in the comics she is sweet and cares for her host Andi i hated that they turned her into toxic man hating only the thing i love Spider Man 2 over WOS is in rage mode you can hear Venom Symbiote's whispers which i wish he had more lines in the game

In spiderman 2 you can spin like a ferris wheel if you don't jump ,happens without aim assist, you can do the same thing in web of shadows.

Spider-man 2 sweeps about every aspect but the Crazy Combat of Web of shadow is too good to compare.

Worst part about WOS: No free roam after the end of the story.

Genuinely bothers me that we could have had a modern WoS in terms of combat system with the current spiderman games, esp with the black suit. The current PS5 game doesn’t feel at all powerful or complex compared to WoS

Combat wise Wos is so vastly superior to insomniac Spider-Man games it's actually sad.

Spiderman 3 on ps2 really put me off the rest of the spiderman franchise....missed so many hidden gems like this 😔

Marvels spider-man 2 doesnt do a good job of showcasing how powerful spider-man is in rhe black suit. I think web of shadows did a much better job than even the comics at showing how powerful he really is in the black suit.

Every time this video gets recommended to me I feel like I got ripped off by Insomniac for not giving us a WOS black suit experience

Web of shadows actually had a good story meanwhile spiderman 2 you can tell sweet baby inc wrote the story and designed the characters

IMO:

Graphics: Obviously Spider-Man 2. Though TBH, neither game looks absolutely spectacular. Spider-Man 2’s model designs are hideous (besides some designs like Venom and Norman Osborn for example) and I feel like would’ve looked more visually appealing had there maybe been more consistent clean colourful lighting (like InFamous: Second Son) which enhances the atmosphere or just a unique animation style like Ultimate Spider-Man.

Web swinging: Definitely Web of Shadows.

Fall damage: Spider-Man 2 LOL, I dunno know but seeing the ragdoll just go flying after falling is hysterical, better than WoS just face planting.

Symbiote combat: Web of Shadows, and it’s really no contest if we’re being honest.

Wall combat: Not fair since Spider-Man 2 doesn’t even feature wall combat.

Stopping cars: Web of Shadows TBH. Being able to pick up and throw cars is something I didn’t know I needed to do. If Insomniac didn’t remove legit EVERY CAR STOPPING ANIMATION (that was just retarded) and not only include a single goddamn one, maybe it would’ve been more enjoyable.

Red suit combat: Web of Shadows, and it’s really no contest if we’re being honest.

QTE: TBH I think it could easily go either way, but I prefer Web of Shadows ultimately. Considering the fact you use it for cool as spectacle like fighting a symbiote-enhanced Wolverine, Vulture high in the clouds, and a Building-Sized massive Venom feels more climatic to me.

Wall running: Eh, could go either way. I kinda prefer SM2 tho seeing how you move faster and it ties seamlessly with web swinging or perching. It’s kinda weird in the fact he runs WAY faster up walls than on the ground.
