Where do you buy 8020? I go to all kinds of metal suppliers and never see it anywhere. Especially all these crazy profiles with smooth sides and radius.

I like tapping center hole of profile and using end fasteners more than the surface mounted elbows and plates

Thank you for your video. This will be invaluable advice as I embark on my first project. I'm curious though, I noticed you don't use internal fasteners like anchors and end fasteners. Is there a reason for this?

awesome video thank you!!

Im a diy'er and just started learning about the near limitless options of extruded aluminium.

Do you recommend getting your 80/20 from a reputable distributer or can I get good quality aluminium from, say Amazon, or Ebay?

Getting ready for van 2 and more 80/20. Do you have the squares available for sale in a website somewhere? I'm interested in purchasing some. Thanks!

You use 80/20 1010 stock which is quite expensive. Other than size, can I use 2020 stock which is 20 mm x 20 mm but half the price and not made by 80/20?

Good video for beginners. But the "t" nut is actually shaped like a "t", the nut has a line on it that shows the alignment of the "t". There are slide-in's that can go in before you put the ends on and there are drop-in's which can be installed if you forgot something before you put it together or you want to add something later. Drop-ins aren't as strong as slide ins or "t" nuts but should work for most people.

Hi George, I scrolled through your comments and see that you buy the 8020 direct from the company but my nearest distributor says you have to buy the fastening hardware individually, while I see Amazon sells some of what you use in quantity. So, my thought was to buy the hardware on Amazon if it was the same quality? Also, can you share what size bolts you prefer to use when fastening the 1010 to your angle iron along the sides? Thank you again!

Hi George, should I buy the extruded aluminum and hardware from Amazon or directly from an 8020 distributor? Amazon seems to carry the hardware you use with the exception of the 45-degree supports. The 8020 distributor only sells the fasteners individually. I just don't know if you think there's a big difference in quality etc. Thoughts? Thank you so much for all you do to educate us!

In places where the fasteners are visible, I use stainless steel fasteners; the silver screw heads give the structure a more finished appearance, less Frankenstein. What is a mini-me? Thanks for the video.

Do you have 1 video that shows a newbie the very basics of the 80/20 concept? e.g. not a deep dive, just a "here are how the fasteners fit the profiles and how they screw together" kind of video... maybe 2 minutes long. I have the simplest of needs (as in... What time is it?) and all these videos are essentially telling me how to build a watch.

Hi George!
Your videos are awesome like a quality of your builds!
Could you please tell in few words what sizes of 80/20 do you use for:
1)Shower walls carcass
2)top cupboards
3)kitchen unit frame(with work top)
4)and a bed frame?
Thanks for everything you share with us!

Insert your tool. Attatch a wobble. Connect your ratchet or, if need be, a ratchet with a stubby extension.

Hi Georg, your work with 8020 is close to perfection. I’m not sure if you work with Bosch or item, I’m building my bus with item , and there are nut’s with a little ball and a spring and on top they have a little Chanel they slide in the profile from the 8020 and I think with this ones you don’t need your little tool but it’s cool.

I started diving into my own 8020 van cabinet frames last week- thanks for all your tips. Question: have you ever had the fasteners loosen over time in a vehicle setting? I'm wondering about using lock-tight on the bolts. Also, I'm curious why you don't use 3360 or 3380 fasteners (for 15 series) instead of the 4302 corner brackets? They are both stronger and seem cleaner from an appearance standpoint. Thanks again
