EDIT: I solved the issue by switching from ExtendScript to JavaScript in project settings > expressions

I'm not getting this simple line to work:
text.sourceText.style.setFontSize(200)

After effects will return an error saying the property or method "style" in class "TextProperty" is missing or has been deleted / moved ...

I can't really find out why this is happening. Is anyone else having this issue?

any solution for applying superscript via expression? eg - in date '01st Jan 2021' I am tring to apply the superscript effect on 'st'

You should be able to use ternary operators to shorten that if statement:

Adobe should realise that when people request more 'speed', 99% are refering to rendering. Most of us have multicore machines and only 25-50% gets used most of the time.

@School of Motion, i had seen an effect for the Secret Garden trailer, where the words "secret garden" scaled up towards to the screen but, there were flowers blooming in the background. Could you cover how to do that effect? Do you need the link to the trailer i'm referring to?

Great new text expressions! Is it possible to set style for a character or a word? For example i need one certain word of my text to be bold

can the latest after effects save project to the previous version to cs6?

They messed up the text preview when cycling through fonts in the character panel... this was an issue in AE 2018 and it came back in 2020... sigh.

Having come from a fluid simulations background where parallel computing has been the norm for at least 2 decades, I'm surprised at the lack of features for parallel and high-performance computing in AE given the CPU intensiveness of the calculations are undertaken. I'm no expert on AE so there may be some feature(s) I don't know about, but it seems to me they could make massive improvements to rendering speed by using parallel optimisation.

Okay just installed and did a render test. Nothing too scientific, but there was zero rendering time difference between 2019 and 2020. What is the problem with Adobe making their software use all 12 cores of my cpu? After all of these years we still have to use outside solutions to get access to all CPU cores? Getting tired of this BS. Fix this Adobe. Don't add anything else to your software until you can utilize all of a CPu for rendering.

Do I need to upgrade plugins? That's always a pain

Expressions has been getting much love in recent years! so hyped about the new features, dropdown menus and text expressions are going to change the game.

How can you change font style only for 1 word or letter or for regexp. Is it possible.

Love the new expression stuff and EXR and speed improvements. Sure it is not perfect, but for MG, it is still amazing

I have a question, I have many projects already setup and soon we will go into internationalization, and I have to change around alot of text in all those projects
is it now possible, to somehow drive all the text over one Master Comp, or even better the Essential Graphics?? this should be possible with the source text stuff right?

It isn't seriously... Dropdown menu? I use Flex Effector. When developers will add support creating user effects like in Nuke or Houdini? Needs a text controller on Effects panel.

Is it also possible to change a section of a whole string to another font style with expressions? Like change only the first character of a text to Uppercase bold with expressions.
